This reminds me of the assault charges against the three Pitt players two years (or 3?) ago, did those ever amount to anything? I know Streets is in the league now, not sure about the other two.

With that video as evidence I think there will be a lot of pressure on Hoke to dismiss him entirely. Will he?? Probably depends on how good he is.

Rocket I agree with you to a point. Difference being that if this was an ND player with this same video. I'd find it hard for any ND fan to try to somehow explain away. And in most cases. I don't think that many would try.

that was a total b!tch move on his part...waited until the guy was turned away and then threw the punch. with the injuries suffered (the guy needed a breathing tube for a couple days!) that should be felony assault. he should be off the team

I agree. Dude should be able to hold his own in a fair fight. There's no reason he should only be "indefinitely" suspended, he needs to be flat out expelled from school.

Agree, at least I would hope. That guy needs to have the book thrown at him. I love the whole "you bumped into me, now you need to die" crap that goes on nowadays. I had a guy do that same type of **** to me when I was a younger man, he knocked me down and I hit a car bumper on my way down, leaving me unconscious. He then proceeded to beat my face in while out, he didn't realize my cousin was about to release the most severe beatdown I have ever not seen upon his a$$. By the time I came to I only saw an unconscious man laying on the blacktop with a one foot blood pool expanding around his head. I had to pull my cousin off of him so he didn't kill him. The moral of the story is hang out with tough guys that don't look for fights but finish them.

Nickman54 pretty crazy story man. I had a similar thing happen to me as well. My grandpa and I were all grabbing some bosco sticks at the local Kum & Go after pounding most of brews in Johnson County that night. Some clown comes up to my grandpa jabber jawing about how there's no way my grandpa drank a whole case of bud light that night. My grandpa being the whitty man he was came back with some hella nice zingers and the dude got pissed and sucker punched old gramps. Little did he know my grandpa was the regional boxing champion from 1965 to 1970. Boy did that guy receive the beatdown of a lifetime. I had to pull gramps off of him just so we had enough time to get away before the cops showed up. Found out later the dude needed 34 stiches and plastic surgery to fix his eye socket. The moral of the story is anybody can make up a terrible story and post it on the internet, also if something outrageous like that really happens to you, you probably shouldn't talk about it on the internet

That guy is going to jail. His UM football career should be the last thing he is worrying about.

I understand it is not a felony if you don't use a weapon or something to hit the person with. Is that right???
