Committed to Iowa....said it came down to Iowa and ND.....chose Iowa because he doesn't think Kelly will stick around long......does he actually think Ferentz is gonna be around very long??

But because he linked his decision to ND he gets a little national attention.

Short offer list for a rivals 4 star 5.9 player

OK. I thought we were through recruiting the offensive line. No big deal.

Not for 2014. You have to bring in at least 2-3 per class even though this class, 2013, is big (and that was necessary due to some misses, transfers and a tragedy in the recent past).

We are still in good shape for a couple more top tier Olinemen for 2014. Not too bothered by it, though I would have loved to have him.

I wish him luck and most likely he does not flip but on the other side there is a chance he may well flip before all is said and done. I wish him well and Ferentz can prepare him for the NFL if that is what he wants.

IMO, pretty lame thing to say as an excuse as to why you pick a team like that your junior year in HS. To each their own though.

When Iowa sucks again next year and Ferentz is gone, we'll see how this ends up.

Whether it is the coaching carousel or the recruiting scene, the whole sport gets closer and closer to full blown "free for all" status every year. They'd might as well call it a lean when it's this far removed from LOI day for him.

Time will tell. I'd betcha he ends up in the Big 10, but we'll see. If Iowa crumbles, I wouldn't count out Wisconsin.

agree with everything you said Calves, especially when a kid commits to a local school so early and that local school is not very good, things could change down the line. However, with one OL already committed, we are probably looking at only 2 more... maybe 3. We are in pretty good shape with guys like Mason Cole, Braden Smith, KC McDermott, and Reilly Gibbons.
