^ This... exactly. I doubt we get him now to be honest.

on II there's a headline that says NDs in play with alexander. the kid seems to really like ND it's just whether or not he wants to leave the south imo. the kid is priority #1 imo.

I didn't post it because it hasn't happened yet and I am not convinced it will. He said recently he is again interested in a ND OV.

I dont doubt you personally big23head, but I think he is shaky and I'll believe it when I see it.

it's a fluff, teaser article.....no substance at all......

I want kids that want to be here.

Don't crap out when you actually need to go to class and learn something.

Don't crap out when the weather reaches the single digits and you're skidding across campus.

Don't crap out when your best bet on a weekend is staying in and studying vs. raging at a nightclub that isn't really there in South Bend.

Don't crap out when you aren't listed atop the depth chart for week 1 as a freshman because other guys have talent and have played for a year already.

The way Alexander has bounced around in his comments, I have my reservations. Don't care how great your game film is if you're going to hate your experience here or leave after realizing everything that comes with the ND experience, and realizing that you're no different than the other 100 or so guys on the team. He may be a great kid, and go on to do great things. Some kids need a different environment than that of Notre Dame to flourish. Heck, he might even do those great things at ND someday - who knows.

After seeing what has happened with some of these borderline studs like Lynch, Shepard, and Prestwood, I want guys that fit before anything else. Transfers hurt at other schools, but they KILL at ND, where we don't have grey shirts sitting in the wings, and we can't patch a hole with a JUCO.

It sounds like coach talk meant to butter up the cameras, but there's truth in the whole RKG concept, especially at ND.

I agree completely, that is why I didn't post it originally haha

I don't care if he is flaky. This is the talent that is missing from this class ... a true cover corner.

Will be at the game this weekend to watch ND

Well written and I agree for the most part.

Unfortunately, or fortunately if you are a person who likes variety, not all ND recruits are like the Golics, legacies who would go nowhere else, or Clausen, superstars who choose ND early and seemingly never waver. Most teenage boys are a little bit fickle and undecided.

On the other hand, I think it is worth it to take a couple chances every year: some of them, like Tuitt, Nix, Niklas, and Manti, work out pretty well. Kiel might end up being another one. It looks like Alexander, Mattingly, Moore, and Anzalone are those guys this year.

So we man up and sign up for a couple emotional roller coaster rides that go with these calculated risks; safe in the knowledge that we will take a loss here and there (lose some and win some); and that we can patch those losses up with a 5th yr guy or a transfer.

Was Alexander at the OU game yesterday? Anyone hear of any impressions he had?

If he was there, was it technically a visit to OU?
