Overtime. In the rain. Ball on the one foot line. 4th down. Goal line stand.

That is the best ending to a game since?

The UCLA game when Shark caught the TD (even though that didn't "end" the game) in '06?

Batting down the Ward pass to beat FSU in '93?

The two-point try stop vs. Miami for the win in '88?

I'm sure I'm missing a few in there, but there can't be many bigger than this since '93 and '88.

I've been trying to think all things considered is this the best win for this program since 93 FSU?

Ivory Covington's stop against Army has to be up there with great finishes...

Though not an ending, the 8 play goal line stand vs. Washington (Including the extended drive due to the bogus roughing the snapper penalty) was pretty epic also.

While FSU '93 was awesome...

Nothing will ever overshadow '92 Penn State...

That's the one I was thinking, mainly because it too was an amazing "goal line stand" all on its own.

agree 100% ^

Props to Mr. Covington 1995 vs Army. Good fundamentals on this one.

Great finish. Best ever? All mentioned above were great.

What I found interesting was there was no talk of this being a 'signature win.' Like we did that vs Michigan State for the first one in a long time and now the idea is passe' because once again the expectation at Notre Dame is to win every game. Does this as much as anything mean that NID is 'back'?

It was clearly the best ending in nearly 20 years--

The drama--the rain---the poetry of having it be the defense to do it---JUST AMAZING----

There was great stuff in the 70s/80s/ early 90s no doubt-- BUT SINCE---oh my, we have so many WORST ENDINGS--MSU OVERTIME 05--BUSH PUSH--MSU OVERTIME 2010--SYRACUSE SENIOR DAY__TY'S SUICIDE GAME AGAINST BC---SO MUCH CRAP IT MAKES ME ILL___

THE 2012 DEFENSE GAVE US A CATHARSIS WE NEEDED DESPERATLY___IT TRULY FEELS LIKE THE CORNER HAS BEEN TURNED!!

While it didn't turn out the way we wanted in 2005, had the "Bush Push" not happened, by far that would have been the greatest ending in a long time.

GO IRISH!!!

If you're focusing solely on final seconds, not sure the rainy, away, night game in E Lansing a few years ago would count, thanks to Mr Lambert again.

The AF thriller in 2000(?) was amazing, block by Glenn Earl.

Jabari Holloway fumble reception with 19 seconds or so left against USC in 99 stands out, although rankings were not on the line that day.

i think i agree with this one as well.
