Well his interview said not a whole lot anyone can hang a hat on other then "Let Dave (Wanny) figure it out." :D That's where I want to leave it. Not SBT, Stewart Mandrel, a paid site or even an expert...Let wanny figure it out.

I did see Freshmen Kyle Mcarthy worked his way into the line up on defense. I have studied this kid a bunch. I predict super things from him at ND. You read it here first.

I am wondering who will be the Starting KR's and the PR. I'd imagine Hoskins as both KR/PR and the other KR being McKnight?? I am honestly hoping D.J. Hord can get an opporunity to be a return man. I think he could do very well there.

Kbno.. Yes I think Hord will get in somehow.. looks too good to keep in a box. Other slots? I dunno.. so at least Wanny doesn't either. Plug and play... Coach Weis will surprise em all.....

What's up with Anastasio returning kicks? I think Grimes is the next Vontez Duff, but back to CA returning kicks. Am I alone thinking that Hoskins would have been better.

/Irish that's a toughie.. I have some Favs too.

I fall back on Coach Parmalee at Dolphins. Supposed to have had some innovative kickoff returns then etc. Perhaps this guy fit in better?

You know instead of charging right ahead could read the field pick up a block better and zig another way for extra yards? I really don't know. Must have been something impressive, just an added weapon in the cupboard.

Still seems 'roatation" and plug and play. A constant surprise who matches up with you so you don't know what to expect. This whole shebang is going to be new to me the 3rd as well.

To be honest I somehow doubt even who he said is #1depth beyond brady... He's light years ahead of the game

Supposedly, he had a broken foot last year and I can attest to the fact that the old schemes sucked because when my sister came to a game, she was like "What the hell are they doing? I thought they would set up a pattern to block the guys." That was the first college game she had ever seen, but she does come to a lot my HS games so she has somewhat of an idea. Anyway, he sould be better, but until he returns a kick past the 35, I will be hoping that the opposition kicks to Harris.

I was gone all weekend and got back last night and finally got to check the depth chart. A couple of thoughts. I counted 6 true freshman on the 2-deep. 7 if you count Grimes as a kick-returner. It's obvious this staff will play who can play freshman or senior but wow is that scary how bad things are that some very unheralded recruits are on the 2-deep already. For what it's worth I thinking recruting rankings are a farse and kids like Bruton and McCarthy may turn out better than 4 or 5 star players but it is scary that these guys are in the mix this early. It illustrates once again how bad things were with Ty and how bad things would be in the future if ND didn't act quickly and show him the door. I couldn't believe Chase A was even being considered for KR duty but if he was hurt he might be better than he looked last year. Let's hope so. I still think Wooden or Hoskins are better but what do i know. Other than that there weren't many surprises. If this team stays healthy 8 or 9 wins is not out of the question if they loose some key guys they'll be doing well to go 6-5.

All in all, not too surprising of a depth chart. I had to do a double-take when I saw that Morton was moved back to center over Sully, but I am satisfied with Charlie's explanation. I love the idea of a constanly rotating line on both sides of the ball. This will help avoid the injury bug that could be DISASTROUS if it hits the lines. I was also surprised, like everyone else, to see Chase A. as the starting kick returner. I have to assume that his injury last year truly was holding him back. The blocking last year was atrocious, so if that improves, Chase should get a fair chance. I love that Grimes is the starting punt returner, namely because not a peep was said about him all camp. Moves like that give me hope that Charlie has everything planned out, but is willing to sit on the information and spring it at the last second to gain an advantage. Hit comments about Crum and Schwapp really have me fired up, more so than ever!
