BGI Splits From Rivals

If anyone else keeps up with the Irish internet drama and gossip you will have heard the rumor by now the BGI was going to split from Rivals.com. Today it was confirmed by the free board. They will not join another network, at least not now. They are soon going to move to IrishIllustrated.com. Their logo looks nice (that's the only thing on that website so far). The contract with rivals ends on Tuesday. Which means they have to move by then.

where does this leave B&G? do they still have there paper? thats all I am going to ask for now.

Yes, they will keep their print magazine. In fact, that is why they split. They had the print subscribers as first priority and rivals had web subscribers as first priority.

Yes I assume so. If not they would just be losing business with advertising.

Oops I made a mistake...The new Rivals ND site will be Irish Illustrated. BGI will keep their name and just move back to goblueandgold.com or something.

I think this is great. We are ND. We are different from the rest. We deserve to have a truly unique national publication, and I think the association with Rivals puts everyone in the same fold. Also, I think the material gets too homogenized and glazed over when you deal with one massive source company.
