Notre Dame and the media bias.

The Blue-Gray Sky has an interesting article on Anti ND bias today.

I sent Ryan an article to print on that topic more than a week ago. I really had to swallow hard typing my heading for it. Hope I don't get run out of town or DD. We had a glitch on when to print then Ryan got busy with class.

However, for any bias I do know we are sure getting a great deal more publicity then at anytime I can ever recall. :D

Coach Weis has mentioned NCAA rules more then any coach in various statements. That's a sign of leading a clean program. I for one am getting so tired of the other guys goofing...I meant golfing and pre contacts with a school before fired from ND.

There is the printed statementt "Notre Dame always honered the full length of any contract with a Coach." Now look We once did the mass in Latin and now it's all in English. Some will miss it some will not. (Traditions change.) If you didn't go to ND or your not a Catholic your comments are from an outsider on topics like that.

Now really, deep down isn't this what you really are? A drooling outsider looking in a window as we feast on a huge table of positives? Your whining because you were not with us before and are really not invited now. Go write an article on USC will win it all that no one will really read. Funny how all read things like these negative guys put out.

I can say...USC...Pats..No one and I repeat no one wins forever.

Oh! A pal just reminded me that in a previous printed article Ty was considering taking a year off to travel around the country picking the best offensive minds after being fired.

That brings up a couple points. He realized early on his offensive mind needed help?

Lastly..Ummm.... Ummm... this guy please note AFTER being fired considered a vacation to boost his brains. But somehow BEFORE he was fired he's calling around for a new job?

That doesn't quite mesh with truth. Teflon Ty.

It bothers me ridiculously how the media played it out that TW's firing was racist or he got fired undeserving, or his tenure was too short. One, it had nothing to do with race, he was just flat out uncompetitive. Two, he wasn't a good in-game coach. And Three, we fire a guy with a worse record than Ron Zook and somehow that doesn't matter that they both lasted only three years. The media tried to make us look like the bad guy. But one thing is for sure: We better beat Washington. If it just so happens that we go 2-9, we better beat Washington and Navy.

Ideally, I would love to see ND win that game 42-21 because 21 pts on the board is very respectable and they weren't totally massacred. I too root for the service academies when they do not play ND.

I think what we are seeing a lot of, especially in the case of the BGS post, is the paradox of writers putting out stories about how Notre Dame is no longer relevant, when in fact the only reason they are writing the article is because of Notre Dame's RELEVANCE. Look at it this way, some hack out in Denver probably doesn't know much about ND. You can't blame him, because neither does any other non-ND fan, nor would we in his situation. However, in the interest of gaining readers through ND's RELEVANCE, he includes some un-informed jabs. What he doesn't realize is that Notre Dame fans nationwide know a LOT about their school, and are quick to pick up on his innacuracies. He explains this away with the oh-so-tired "arrogance" label. Bottom line, the relevance that the writer claims doesn't exist, is the same relevance that brough him down.
