Notre Dame vs Navy? In Ireland 2006?

I had some info a couple months back about Notre dame playing Navy in Ireland again. :D I recall the game under Holtz. It was a cool thing to know they were playing football so far away. Some funny incidents but then as I recall some ND band members and such spoiled it.

I'd like to see this happening again. Of course with Sept 11 things have really changed and security would be the most important aspect on anyones agenda so I sure do not know.

But I can hope a deal works out that way again.

No offense it was just a treat to see blacks and guys with the last name like Cowsnowski saying they were Irish to people from ireland. :D I almost did not care about the outcome of the game. It was a wonderful thing.

If none of you guys ever saw the game and it happens again your in for a treat.-

Gentlemen watch that irish beer next time.

 This seemed to be not the most earth shaking snippet I ever posted.

I for one am in favor of ND and navy in Ireland. The logistics are really something. The team, band, etc and equipment for both teams. The PR and media are a plus but how does that weigh in cost to each and then added security since 9-11?

It would be a way of showing the flag and our colors. I just do not know how each school would approach this suggestion already on the table?

But you can see whoever is top dog 2006 being eclipsed by NY Times, SI and all that pumping out this one game story and broadcast nationwide by ND and Navy.

So? minus' and plus' to be weighed.

I remember that too. I really don't have an opinion, but I do have a question. Is the game going to be at an unreasonable time due to the timezones and who would cover the game on TV?

I love the fact that only ND could ever pull this off. I'm not sure what positive effects it really has though. The players half to play a game dealing with jetlag and whatnot, so that's a disadvantage. Also, I've read somewhere that though the Irish citizens appreciated the nod to their culture, they didn't really understand the game and expected less stoppages like in soccer. I think it was definitely a game for the ages, but I don't see CW getting too into it. Then again, what do I know?

You know alot :D ND sure do think big.

Looking at it I guess it's like Wow what an idea and being blinded at it. Sort of Like Montan as a Coach. Too many other factors outweigh the PR value. You have two governments involved, a Navy fleet perhaps and security, security and security.

Maybe a few years later on?

Anything's possible I suppose. All I want is wins, followed by wins, followed by more wins. They can happen in South Bend, Ireland, friggin' Zimbabwe for all I care, I just want us to get back on top where we belong. Go IRISH!

:D :D :D Ahahah. WIN is right.

I have seen the "unreasonable expectations of ND fans." Or over entusiasm, Coach Weis even called it a honeymoon. Get usded to a honeymoon every year Coach. .500 ball wasn't reasonable nor were ND fans walking out early. That's what was and tis is an improvement.
