Been waiting on DD info but want to throw this out into the pit.

My compliments to Coach Dan

Quinn rushing for 108 yards and 6 TD's

Completed 143 of 258 passes his senior year in high school for 2,149 yards at Dublin ohio.

25 TD's 4 pass interceptions.

(I hope this is cioreect? I'm not the Stat man)

Zach (reminding you he was a JUNIOR got a year to go yet.

Passed 3,674 yards as a Junior

Completed 285 pass competions of 441 (64.6%)

27 TD's 9 onterceptions

Now I do not consider Brady Quinn small beans under Weis and Vaas.

I do NOT know what High School Coach Schemes Quinn was under. Anyone know? Let me know. Zach was operating out of the 'Pro Style' which means it might not be fair to comapre those stats. As well there are times you just have to throw the ball away in a game.

But all sure looks good.

I have a gut feeling Frazer is going to be the next Heisman for ND. This kid is multi-dimensional and has great field awareness. I think he's putting himself in a position to succeed at the highest level. I wish he was QBing my HS team.

Irish19 darn if I don't feel that way to.

Again That's stats and no idea of HS play per play or styles for either to match up. But interesting to look at.

And this guy has a year left in HS?? Whooooooooooooooo.

Sir John  :D  :D :D

Im pretty sure dublin-coffman runs the ball a lot and has a low risk ball control o... or at least ran it when quinn and company came into town

Weisguy:That's the sort of information needed to counter balance stats. I wish I had playing time of wach as well. If a team was ahead comfortably they might be pulling either one to give a backup some snapsI did not see any carries listed by Frazer but I presume he had some some time and it's merely an oversight in my fact gathering.

holy crap. i would say that brady outshiend frazer. Brady had pretty much half of the pass attempts taht frazer did and not much less in statisics, such as TD's (only two less) although Frazer had about 1000 more yards, i thinkthose numbers would be way more in brady's favor had he had the attempts. I myself would rather see DJ on the field when brady makes his leave

Yes who knows.

I'm reminded (This is before most of you guys) The Dallas Cowboys waited 5 years to draft Rodger Staubach who did his term in the Navy during Nam.

He was #2 behind a not really bad QB that had some on the field problems even going so far as to get himself hypnotised to ignore rushers.

The late Tom Landry just noticed when Staubach went in the team preformed differently and much better.

Staubach had that intangible beyond statistic quality called "Leadership." He conveyed confidence to the other players. He went on to win two super Bowls. Even Bart Starr once said he wished he had some of that quality.

So compare away and I go with the leadership aspect.

South Bend tribune today has a cool article by Eric Hansen on Putting the 'O' back in offense.

As you read somewhere about 23rd paragraph you will find "LEADERSHIP" mentioned which I did above in yesterdays post.

It is a quality a team needs. Sadly I often wondered who the heck was running our team last year and who was in charge of what.

Moving on now, it is great to see some leadership.

As you can see through Weis' structuring, there will be clear-cut leadership across the board. The players named who they respected as leaders, and Charlie gave them that responsibility. A team needs direction, and that rudder-less ship of the past 2 years is nowhere in sight.

Right Santchy. I assume their were 'leaders in name' prior. But no ability to assume the role. If no one has confidence in what the coach sends in for a play how can you lead?

I'm reminded last year the Defense would link a chain and bring it on to the field to symbolise unity. Fricking Mickey Mouse  How about some coaching? We have that now.

What ever the predictions by others 7 up to 9 wins. Expect a hlong hard day of business.
