While the Irish are heavily favored, both teams rely on this game for reasons outside of the match-up. The final game in the current Stanford Stadium is a deciding factor as to whether or not the Cardinal will be seeing another game after the regular season. While the Cardinal have lost the last 3 of 4 games, this season is their best since 2000. The 13-6 series is truly owned by Notre Dame and the Irish have defeated the Cardinal in the last 3 meetings.
