Plus the new QB they drafted is a runner, so Banks will open the doors for him.

Green Goblin 124
Ian Book to the Saints is almost a dream scenario for him. Shame he couldn’t have learned under Drew Brees for a year or two. Being short QBs, I think Drew could teach Ian a thing or two. But the Saints obviously know how to get the most out of Ian’s body-type and skill set. I thought at best Ian would be a 6th or 7th round pick, but most likely go undrafted. I’m glad to be wrong here and happy for him.

That seems to be the common theme for Notre Dame in the draft under Kelly. It would be great to have more first rounders, but Kelly does produce a lot of NFL talent. I think the last time ND had eight players drafted was back in 2014, and there’s still two rounds left to go!

I recall him saying in 2012: "You are going to have to have a top 5 pick if you want Manti Te'o." He also said Clausen is first round talent. I don't think you have to mine deep to find gold with him.
EddieAngel 464
Skowronek to the Ravens in the 7th. I really like that kid I think he is going to do well. A lot of his game remined me of the Shark. Good luck to him. Total of 9 players for ND is a good class.

I thought the most likely outcome would be Book getting invited as an undrafted free agent. ND is putting OL and TEs in the NFL in droves, good ones at that.

No offense to anyone, but I was terrified of Carolina (my pro team) taking Clausen that year, and of course they did. But not in the 1st. They took him in the middle of the second round, and our GM at the time (Marty Hurney) went on record saying he tried to trade the next year's first rounder (ended up being #1 overall / Cam Newton) to move up in the 2nd round to take him. That would've erased a TON of great seasons, including a 15-1 Super Bowl appearance, from the history books. So I'm a little salty about Pickles. SDIrishFan 606
Wonder if Kraemer wishes he’d stayed another year now to try and improve his draft stock?

The staff mighta been top focused on selling Aaron Banks to come back and play left tackle. But, Banks knew that there was a market out there for him as a Guard and capitalized on it. The Buffalo Bills(my pro team) actually promoted the right Panthers staff members in Sean Mcdermot and Brandon Beane. They draft Josh Allen(made up alot like Cam Newton) and Sean starts to put together his patented (Jim Johnson inspired) defense. They've hit on a number of draft picks and now Irish/NC state Corner Nick McCloud who improves any special teams unit from day 1. I thank all Panthers fans for the Bills current success. Cheers to you, my friend Mike!
