2022 WR Amorion Walker is Irish!?

I agree about expectations. But Finke certainly developed more than a lot.

I think part of it is that BK requires that the WRs are top notch blockers and, pure speculation here, many of the lower rater receivers are probably more likely to do that in high school.

Do schools like Alabama not require their young WRs to block or can they teach them to block in less than three seasons? What is BK doing differently than other top programs who seem to be able to get significant contributions from young WRs?

Yes….I wonder if NOW after these offers….Alabama offer and invite to Under Armour game….if some CF fans opinion about our recruit might change

Misread your original comment. Thought you said recruiting not recruit.

Especially this year, early rankings are going to be suspect. For me, quality of other offers is what is probably best indicators of talent. 2021 fall season will also give everyone a chance to shine so I imagine that there will be more movement in recruit rankings than in an average year.

You guys need to go to Blue and Gold and watch Mike Singers interview with Amorion. His high school team camped at Bama snd Ole Miss he wasn't there on his own. He also commented on all of the people on the message boards talking about he's only a low 3 star and ND wasting a spot on the roster. Now he's blowing up and is an Under Armour All American. You guys that trash recruits should really watch what you post because they read the boards.

If we get the guys we want and end up 7th, you're the type of fan who would still complain

The problem in past years has been that Kelly was not the hardest recruiting coach and was content to shoot for Top 15 classes, falling short as recently as the 18th ranked 2020 class. After 11 or 12 years, there finally does seem to be a change for the positive - in terms of expectations, energy and in not being afraid to battle for top talent. How much of it is Kelly and how much is due to Freeman, not sure. In any case, Top 7 would be welcome as an improvement but would still fall short of Kelly's own stated goal of Top 5 classes.

In terms of Walker, it is great to see him exceed his initial ranking. Hopefully, he is a Hamilton type of player.

We were 18th because we only took 17 commits.

In terms of average player ranking we were tied for 9th which was another very good class

Guys like Mayer, Tyree, Mills, Botelho, Lewis  have already made an impact

If a kid is going to make a major life decision base on idiot fans on a message board then he can move along.

yeah but one of ND's selling points is that the alumni network helps them out and that it is a 40 year decision.

Hard to tell on a message board who is alumni and who isnt.

Exactly. COVID made the last 2 recruiting cycles a bit weird/off. Have to trust the staff through this process. His film looks good, I'll take a tall WR who can run any day of the week. Now that some other major players have offered, hopefully that'll put the troll comments to rest. I think he projects higher than Corey Robinson.

Using the average player ranking criteria, then ND's 2022 class is currently only in 13th place instead of 3rd. Top five classes have both numbers and quality.

Since a coach needs a quantity of quality recruits to win the NC, hopefully Amorian Walker and many others in the 2022 class will have a Kyle Hamilton-like trajectory.

I'm sure we'll be moving up soon after landing Sneed and Junior and Scrauth.

We'll be fine. We always recruit well and we're going to have a big finish to this class
