What really sucks about this game is that ND is still so far apart in talent at key positions still. Not trying to pile on guys, but they need some legit corners. That’s been a problem since BK has gotten here. They need to be able to let some guys play on an island. They haven’t had that yet.

They need a legit 5 star qb. One that can see over his line preferably. Guys are open sometimes. He has to lead them. He just can’t see them or trust his one one matchups.

Wide receivers. We need some true burners that will absolutely scare somebody. I’m not talking about guys who have speed but never see the field.

Lastly, it’s NEVER going to happen for BK. Not at ND. He needs everything to fall perfectly to win. And then, it takes a miracle. He has to have more talent than the team opposite of him for him to win consistently. That 43-7 record or whatever it is is most certainly is inflated with a lot of bad teams that BK beat.

There’s no way Lea leaving didn’t have an impact.

Maybe.

But this whole BK shitting the bed in big games is getting old.

After a while, its like a jinx, and everybody starts to believe it. Including players.

I switched off when Clem scored just before halftime. Started to see panic already: sloppy play, questionable play calls etc.

Hurts to watch them play like this after fighting all year.

All this to be the butt of jokes again.

I wanna like BK , was pumped about his recruiting class.

But i can’t . Enough of this ****, laying eggs in prime games.

Enough.

legit question...

"Does Kelly even coach during the game?" It seems like he just stands on the sidelines with his arms folded (it gets worse in big games like tonight while they're getting throttled). Dabo, Saban, Meyer, even Clay Helton interacts with players, moves up and down the sideline getting players in the right spots. He's like frickin statue. I'm finding it hard to believe that guys actually like playing for this guy.

I agree with everything except that it's never going to happen for BK. It may not, but he gives them the best shot by a mile. College Football fans are so irrational when it comes to coaching, it's ridiculous. There's certainly coaches like Harbaugh, and Helton that deserve to be pressed, but Kelly has proven himself.

I’m with zemaniac. I think BK is prone to major wiffs. This was one.

I didn’t pay attention to too much pregame talk, but what i did hear just didn’t feel right to me. It was almost like ND had false confidence that they were going to play well and in the playoffs. The psychology and mindset just seemed ripe for this. The fact if the matter is Clemson got see ND at their best, have weeks to prepare and get very key players back. By losing a game they might of should of won, if they didn’t run out of bounds late in the game, they also had a prime motivator to avenge a loss. ND had none of these advantageous. The team was just not prepared to Take the punch they got when things started going south. This on BK. I know People got on Lou Holtz for “exaggerating how ND never had a chance” but that I believe this would have been better mindset. If, and that’s a big if, ND is in, I dont Like our chances at all.

100% fair criticism. Again, I know that wasn't Kelly's overall point, but he should've been smarter than giving the media that type of sound bite the day before the game.
