ND_JACK
It’s nice to see such a positive response to ND’s coaching change....I think ND might have gotten this one right
Kelly Gruene
It's kind of hard to appreciate just how good the women's team has been, and how good the recruiting has been. The recruiting class of 2020 has been panned. Yet, ND landed 4 of the top 44 recruits in the country in that class (http://www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/rankings/_/class/2020). Imagine if the men's team landed 4 of the top 100 in the country! No one would ever consider that to be a bad recruiting class at Notre Dame. Ivey is certainly off to a great start in recruiting for the 2021 class (http://www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/rankings/_/class/2021). Hopefully she will keep it up, and hopefully have something approaching the success that Muffett has had.
irishrush
Exactly. I think I read that the 2020 class is still the # 4 class in the country, we just don't have any really highly rated players, with the highest being Westbeld at #20.

Both looked good as freshman last year to. The future looks bright.
Jersey Irish
Ivey was the right choice. She was the head recruiter for McGraw for years and she has connections across the country because of it. Not surprised by these immediate commits from high-profile players.
irishrush
Slow ND news period. Saw that Beth Cunningham is pursuing other opportunities. I am guessing she was not happy about getting overlooked for head coach.
Domers23
Slow ND news period. Saw that Beth Cunningham is pursuing other opportunities. I am guessing she was not happy about getting overlooked for head coach. Maybe but surely she had to know that Ivey has been the choice for at least 2 years now. Domers23
I wonder if it was Ivey's decision to go in a different direction? I could see that. Maybe the two didn’t see eye to eye and Ivey had someone else in mind she wanted to bring in.

Domers23
ND playing Fri. and Sun. without Brunelle, Vaughn, Raheem, Marshall, and Gilbert. Starters are Prohaska, Mabrey, Walker, Westbeld, and Peoples. Mabrey will be point. Hayes and Campbell off bench. Ivey says that Hayes will get a lot of time off bench at point. ND_JACK
Yes a bubble team this year. But next year with these two freshmen and the Stanford transfer Maya Dodson I expect them to be a much better team. https://notredame.rivals.com/news/notre-dame-recruit-sonia-citron-named-mcdonald-s-all-american

What’s going on with this team? https://www.wndu.com/2021/03/20/three-notre-dame-womens-basketball-players-enter-transfer-portal/ Not alarming or surprising at all. They all saw the writing on the wall. They aren't going to play. This team has a ton of girls with a lot of eligibility. I'm not concerned about those defections. But, it seems like people here have been concerned about the ability of women on this team. Losing two freshmen who were 5 star recruits makes me wonder a bit. I guess the team has enough talent returning to overcome the loss of two 5 stars?
