2020 Recruiting Prospects

Recommended Posts

Going to be an interesting week with these announcements. Could be huge for ND or at least allow ND to go full out on Yurosek in June.

Michigan. Looks like hes gonna be a skunkbear

I don’t think anyone knows yet tbh. Both staffs and all the networks found out at the same time - when he tweeted it out. Wouldn’t be surprised either way, and I’m also not convinced will stop recruiting him even if he does commit to Michigan. They want him badly. Just like Asa Turner last year.

It sounds like Jordan Johnson really impressed at the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp series in St. Louis over the weekend. He was named wide receiver MVP, and it was suggested that he will move up in the rankings. Rivals currently has him ranked #59 overall and #13 WR.

Expecting a big boost for Botelho in their rankings at some point as well.

Any updates or news leaking about Mcg?

Pretty quiet, which is probably a good thing for ND.

Rumors that both Michigan and ND staffs were caught off guard when he announced that he'd be committing this week. ND insiders saying that the ND staff doesn't know either way.

But to be honest, I would be pretty surprised if he chose ND. Not shocked, but I am expecting him to pick Michigan. That's not really based on any intel, though. Just putting the pieces together, I feel like he will chose Michigan.

With McGregor, it's interesting how old some of those CB predictions are. Some of them go back to February and some to last fall. It's also interesting how many analysts are just guessing - he could definitely have a good career as a prosecutor as he is remarkably skilled at keeping thinhs tight lipped

Agreed, he kept himself and his family under wraps. I think it could go either way. Previously, I was all Michigan but the way things continued I think ND is right there. If ND pulls him, wow.

It will be interesting to see what happens if they don't land him too. Sounds like Melton is the main guy and if not they shut things down on the DL. Could open a spot for a guy like Cody Simon.

Agreed Big - and thanks for posting the Crootin' podcast above. Beyond the McGregor decision, it looks like our next big priority will be at DB. There was some great info in there about DB recruiting.

Absolutely. I'm going to put together a pre-June OV breakdown of where ND is and the DB stuff is the main stuff. I like that the staff has been able to get camp numbers and then go see these kids in person to make the offers.

FWIW, one of them was Trayanum. I'm not sure about the other, possibly McClain.

I thought Trayanum was likely one of them, and I would have guessed Murphy or McClain as the other. This definitely tells you the staff only wants 1 RB and they landed their top priority.
