Wisconsin really is a superior program

Recommended Posts

Having Alvarez pretty much as a GM has worked wonders for them. It seems like whoever the coach is whether it be Anderson, Beliema or Chryst they all have success.

The two guys leaving for lesser jobs leads me to believe Alvarez takes some control for them. Either way Barry has shown that his way works and it really doesn't matter whose coaching.

They've done more during the last 5-10 years in the post season than we've done in over 25. Not saying we need a gm but as a coach, Alvarez>Kelly.

I don't care about their schedule. I dont care about their style.

They are just better. In every aspect but recruiting......and that just makes it worse.

They know who they are.

I'm a fan of elko because in on season you can see his philosophy take shape and he's recruiting guys that fit his system.

Our offense however is a generic mess. They dont recruit guys to fit the system. They try to get a little bit of everything and thus never having a smooth attack on offense.

The great coach K would often say "it's our systems vs theirs"

Wisconsin does the best job of any team in the country of finding a type of player, and developing those players. Almost all of the offense comes back for them next year. The D just keeps reloading. Living and coaching in Wisconsin, our highschool football is very underrated. There's a reason Wisconsin has the linemen and lbs they do.

Contrast having Alvarez as AD to ND having Swarbrick and you wonder why Wisconson's football program is outperforming ours, when in reality it never should. Why ND would entrust a multi-million dollar enterprise in the hands of a guy who probably never played a sport in his life confounds me.

All I’ve seen of Wisconsin is a 59-0 loss in a big ten championship game and then another big ten championship game where they gave a valiant effort, but were clearly overmatched.

They may be better than us, but they’re irrelevant and largely overlooked everywhere except for their immediate region.

Wisconsin is 2-6 vs non-Big 10 ranked teams since 2010. ND is 10-14 in the same span.

Color me unimpressed.

But they do have 20 wins vs FCS and low-level FBS teams since then, so good for them.

Getting 3 free wins every year with an abysmal non-conference schedule will tend to make a lot of teams look good.

They have a formula that has worked for them and where they are located. Big tough o-lineman that can pound the ball. Mix in easy scheduling every year and the fact that they only play Ohio St or Michigan every couple of years, call me half impressed. 10 wins should be a norm.

Wisconsin was an undefeated Power 5 team that was on the outside of the CFP heading into championship weekend. Everyone knew that they were smoke and mirrors because their schedule was absolute trash.

Congrats on playing two Top 25 teams (OSU and Miami), while ND will play seven (Georgia, Michigan State, USC, NC State, Miami, Stanford, LSU).

And how did that work out for ND? Limping to a 9-3 record.

I'll take 13-1 please. And Jelly has just said they are reevaluating their scheduling going forward. Good idea.
