I think a lot will be determined in that usc game, I think kelly not losing the team is a very key piece for Swarbrick and he even said so in the statement backing him. As long as they win next week I see them fighting hard against vt but if they don't pull out that win and are out of a bowl game I could see them walking into the coliseum very much like in 2014 with absolutely no fight and get smoked. 2 years ago it was 49-14, if that happens and I think it will I think he's gone.

30 percent chance he returns

100% chance he returns even if he loses the rest of this season's games

He'll be on the hottest seat next year, and if he doesn't post at least an 8-5, he'll be gone after that...but then again, it also depends on when those losses come because if he starts out next year going 0-2 or 0-3, he is gone in the middle of the year

Does anyone think that he may get a call from the NFL and leave on his own?

I know his record sucks, but apparently there are a lot of believers in key positions out there that may be willing to try to lure him away. I'm all for it, but wanted to get everyone else's thought on whether or not this is a possibility.

Probably pretty accurate, and if your scenario of posting at least an 8-5 record next season would pretty much keep him around, what a sad flippin commentary on the program.

They would be telling us that FIVE, 5 or more loss seasons in 8 years, is "good enough." Not saying it will pan out that way, but I've been given no reason to believe otherwise by the powers that be.

0% chance he ever goes to the NFL, he hasn't shown he is capable of leading a group of college kids. There are so many more qualified people than him I really see no way he would even get a look or thought of.

Only chance he ever goes to the NFL is if Cleveland is hiring a new coach lol.

I am on record as absolutely NO CHANCE that they fire Kelly

That has been my view for weeks......

I have to admit though I do now see a small chance that happens .

As bad as this team has played and as bad as the coaching approach has been I just did NOT expect to see them lose this much.

If--GOD HELP US---we find a way to lose to Army, something a month ago I would have seen as impossible but now :-x

NEW YORK TIMES HEADLINE---

" Rejuvenated Army sees opportunity against Notre Dame"

If things Continue to sink over the last three games,,,,

Its now I think possible Kelly is forced out in some way.

aloha's

The only reason I hold out a sliver of hope - despite the stupid extension hanging over the situation, and Jack making the absolute statement that he will lead the team out of the tunnel in 2017 - is because behind the scenes, I actually would find it hard to believe there is not some level of discussion going on among decision-makers about making a move.

When the product on the field is this bad, and the negative commentary keeps snowballing every week nationally and locally, they simply can't ignore the obvious. Even if they don't admit it publicly. That's my hope anyway.

But it still goes back to my perception of no sense of urgency on their part regarding the program, which is why they've given me no reason to believe they won't drag their feet in to yet another season, hoping for the best.
