ND Formations

With all the RB's in the stable at ND, we should run some two back sets. With Folston getting his due praise, and Bryant the heir apparent to Lee Becton, how will Cam fit in? GA and AC need to step their game up or move to a slot position.

With Golson under center, 2 back sets are technically 3 back sets..

Welcome to DD.

The only way I can see all this offensive power getting their touches is for the Defense to shut people down, 3 and outs. I like how ND develops their younger guys, Jarron Jones, etc. Tuitt would be a huge hole to fill, even if we do have some quality replacements. Defense is going to have to play lights out if the offense is going to have a chance to spread the ball around. We could literally score in a half dozen plays next season.

There was a vaunted pistol formation that was supposed to be the unstoppable gem of the ND offense floating around spring last year. I am not sure if it got quashed because of the Golson fail or what.

We used it and averaged a good chunk of yards per play out of the pistol. Really not sure why it wasn't used more? Limitations/Checking into another play/etc.

After the bye, they did install a shotgun 2 back sweep I'd like to see 2 back power too

They used in this case a motion by TJ from the slot(fly sweep with a pause) to create 8 on 7 playside TJ's defender could not come with him and we had a TE in..

Nice lead block(arc block) by Folston and a Guard getting a free shot at a LB

Next year that will be a zone read and our qb will have the option to pull and head to the other side as well as it was 30 yard gain for TJ..
