It's like he wants me to hurt inside. He doesn't have the ability for his audibles to mean anything he picks apart a defense then panics, that's atleast what I see out of him. With Tommy as our QB it's gonna be a dark year against talented teams.

Wish Kelly woulda ran it more.

I think too many people are hanging this game on Rees. Was he perfect? No. That pick he threw right before the first half bothered the hell out of me, but let's not pretend our defense wasn't horrible. We just couldn't contain Gardner and Gallon and that's why we lost. This one's not on Tommy.

Yes and no. The offense scored 23 points. That isn't enough. D gave the O a chance to the with 9 minutes left and O couldn't get it done. Sometimes the O needs to bail out the D.

I just feel our offense moved the ball fine and if we weren't playing catch up the whole game we could have relaxed out there and converted more opportunities. Maybe I'm making an excuse for Tommy Gun and the offense, but I think this one goes on the defense. The offense definitely could have played better though.

I won't put that second INT on him. That's just Michigan luck at home.

That said, he really wasn't that bad. Yes, he had the one really bad INT and yes, he missed a few crucial passes but I'm not going to throw him down and dogpile on him with everyone else this season.

The kid is very limited athletically. He should have been and would have been our 3rd string QB this year and if Hendrix wasn't so limited mentally, Tommy would be 4th string.

It just is what it is. I'd put way more blame on GA3, the coaches for playing GA3 so much, and the DBs for losing that game than I'd put on Tommy Rees.

I 100% agree with this post, especially the last paragraph.

the poor kid is one dimensional......he has a high school arm and blocks of concrete for shoes........not too difficult to game plan for that.....it'll be a 3-4 loss season.....get used to it.......

Yep.

I can tell he truly was trying as absolutely best he could out there and it was pretty respectable compared to what he usually does against a defense like that....

yeah goblin, poppa pump said it best....they abandoned the run, and placed him in a position to fail (remember Tulsa?)..then, Kelly had the nerve to dress HIM down on national tv when it was obviously HIS fault....kelly was a dick...period....it was not Tommy's fault that they asked more from him than he could deliver........kid did his best...Kelly failed.......

Agreed....100%. I can't stand Tommy..but that is the best he can do. Also, WTF on BK for declining that holding penalty?

I didn't see the dress down you are referring to. What did Kelly say? He's wrong whatever it was.

Obviously Tommy isn't free from criticism, that turnover before the half was inexcusable. Simply can't throw that pass at that point in the game... but then again, that's why he would have been 3rd string if all had gone according to plan. Aside from that and not giving his WRs even a chance on a few endzone passes, Tommy did as much as could be expected of him.

Obviously everyone shares the blame in a loss.

I guess my feeling is that Tommy played well enough for us to win that game. Other members of the team, coaches and players, didn't even do as much as Tommy did.

Agree with this. Tommy deserves criticism too. He made mistakes also. But everyone deserves to be criticized for this loss, except for maybe Brindza.

BK, in his post game said it best. Across the board we need to increase our focus and intensity.

Do not panic everybody...1 game is not a reason to jump all over these guys and it is not indiative of what this season holds. Was it ugly yes...was it a bad game for the D yes...was there some questionable play calling sure...but lets wait and see how they bounce back and judge the finished product.

It is tough to do in know.... but fair.

I was not disappointed with Tommy's playing regardless of the INT in the first half. He had a pretty good game and makes a LOT of smart decisions. This game falls squarely on the defense and primarily the secondary. Also, GAIII still is not a quality back and needs to be treated as such. I will take Carlisle and the two freshmen moving forward without hesitation. It is time to move forward with the future running backs and let their supreme talent grow with playing experience. We have a LOT of talent setting there and continuing with the GAIII experiment is not worth the time. He is flawed at running back with his upright style along with a proven lack of hands to catch the ball. The receiving corps is SOLID and Tommy will take advantage of them going forward. However, the defense has to improve and we have been exposed horribly by any quarterback that is mobile as Temple and now Gardner have shown that is a huge weakness for us.

Hendrix limited mentally? He's a pre-med major for crying out loud. C'mon man!

No one is saying he's dumb, but he doesn't have the mental composure of a big time D1 QB. Dear in headlights syndrome.

Rees played pretty well. Just missed a few passes that would have extended the series's and need to run the play actin more despite not being the fastest. On goal line pretty limited without a running QB.

I was talking about Hendrix to the guy who was saying he was pre-med.

It is as much on Tommy as anyone else. The INT just before the half was probably a 14 point swing.

He hasn`t changed his bad habits of locking on to the receiver and throwing into double coverage. I was expecting more.
