NDfan1224 10
Who do you think has the same style of play as Everett Golson? Darron Thomas - Oregon Dan Persa - Northwestern Nathan Scheelhaase - Illinois James Franklin - Missouri Any of those guys? He isnt really a burner like Denard Robinson, Taylor Martinez, or Robert Griffin, right?

Not too mention, each of these guys run different variants of spread ~ so, it is hard to comp Darron Thomas with any of these guys. With a gun to my head, I would categorize him as a more elusive version of Persa. Scheelhaase is run first, play-action, and Franklin plays like he has cement boots on. I would say he is a better passer than Denard and T-Magic, right now. RG3? Sure, minus the Olympic-quality athleticism and the trophy.

KellyisNasty 10
His play is very similar to RGIII. A thrower who only runs when he has to or to extend plays. Not an athletic freak like Robinson or Newton, but still quite a strong arm, good pocket presence and shifty runner. I don't expect Golson to rip off 40 yard runs, but who needs to when he can get you 10?
FaithInIrishForever 35
[ame] [/ame] there ya go kelly missed your comparison b4 just updated qb eye test sorry
KellyisNasty 10
Thank you very much. The visual evidence kind of speaks for itself, doesn't it RGIII was amazing, I only hope Golson is half as good.
FaithInIrishForever 35
In Football especially I have always felt that a picture is worth 1000 words. That's why coaches and players alike now watch tons of film.. I'm not going to ever tell any of you what to think, I just add to the video links list because the video will tell you the story.. chirodomer 0
The great news for Golson is that he doesn't have to be RG3 to get a title. He just has to play 60% of the way he did in high school. There's no way he pulls off 70% of the stuff he did in HS Bc the speed is so much faster but His pump fake is very good and looks very similar to his pass. I think he will have some decent pocket time and he can run just enough to make this offense click..............I Hope!
chirodomer 0
By the way, there may be one or two other players that has RG3's arm in all of college football and only a few with his speed. None have have the entire package like him. I know the colts will take Frankenstein part 2 but I would like to see them roll the dice and take the Heisman.
IRISHSTL7 10
I think Golson plays like Golson! I say let the kid play start him now and give him a chance to grow with this young team. Is he going to make mistakes, yes but he is our best guy right now imo. He has had 1 full year of learning the offense and I think it's time to turn him loose he is too talented to just have him sit on the sidelines wearing a red hat and if you don't play him at qb you need to get him on the field. NDhoosier 11
The thing I like about Golson's highlights is that most of them are passes and not running. One thing I did not like about Fuller's highlights is that most of them are running plays. A QB needs to be able to the throw the ball and not just run, I do not want a Tim Tebow type of player, Golson seems to be throw first, run when in trouble.
Dayton_Domer 10
Just don't turn it over in the red zone and all will be good.
