I Wanna Be Illegal

The Honorable Paul S. Sarbanes June 7, 2006

309 Hart Senate Office Building

Washington DC, 20510

Dear Senator Sarbanes,

As a native Marylander and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Immigration and Naturalization Service in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My reasons for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stem from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, what I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out. Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

Your Loyal Constituent,

Pete McGlaughlin

First of all I would stop lending people money...2nd I would stop letting politicians use people (especially immigrants) for political purposes...that's sick...we put people in jail for a lot less...

If a citizen is for an open border then that individual is free to be politically active for that cause...if said citizen is for a closed border then that individual can work with other citizens to determine the laws and guidelines they would like there government to write and enforce...AND ENFORCE!

How many times have we been down this road? Three or four? ..."We will give 'undocumented workers' some form of amnesty and we will fix this problem so it won't happen again". Can we raise the bullshit flag yet? Or are we just as stupid as our leaders take us for?

So we grant amnesty AGAIN, and we set up millions more people to run through the desert, to pay Coyotes (Mexican mafia), to put themselves into a human trafficking network, to hide from American authorities and fear the police while they wait for the next hoped for amnesty, and to basically put their lives at risk for a taste of a better life. Doesn't sound like a recipe for the next good citizen and it sure doesn't sound like a very humane thing to do. But hey, as long as they vote.....? republican, democrat it's all good right?

And please don't tell me there aren't any solutions for this...this is America...the place where problems USED to go to get solved.

Time to start a CleanUpOurHouse.com ....Get rid of these failures in the next election...

I know its messed up but if someone owes you money lets say 10k and you have the option to either bitch about and get nothing, or offer a deal and get 6k what would you do?

Or throw them in some form of debtor's prison to work off their debt. Allowing, or even actively encouraging, people to renege on their debts doesn't help anyone (other than deadbeats, obviously).
