  1. With some of these vacancies in the NFL and the attention BK is getting recently, can anyone else see him jumping to the NFL this year? I certainly can considering he flirted with it in 2012... The last time house stock was this high. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  2. I think there is merit to this discussion. ND ranks 125th in opponent penalty yards per game. https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/stat/opponent-penalty-yards-per-game It's maddening watching our D line get held nearly every play without any flags. It's as if the Irish players are handicapped for being good at what they do. Okwara was held numerous times on passing plays that impacted the game. Blatant no-calls. I'd be purple-faced on that sideline if I was BK.
  3. Anyone in the media with a brain knows that ND played that game without their top 2 offensive weapons on the field. Book hadn't made his debut and Williams was suspended. I'll take a rematch with the skunkbears any day. ND is simply better than that team. They already proved it.

  5. I understand that this is a small sample size, however, this is a measure of efficiency. It's relative. Here's their definition of the stats: "Team efficiencies are based on the point contributions of each unit to the team's scoring margin, on a per-play basis. The values are adjusted for strength of schedule and down-weighted for "garbage time" (based on win probability). The scale goes from 0 to 100; higher numbers are better and the average is roughly 50 for all categories. Efficiencies update daily during the season." While the sample size is small, we can still conclude that this team is inefficient thus far. This team will not maintain it's current top-10 AP ranking if they continue to perform this inefficiently throughout the season.
  6. ND's current team efficiency rankings: Offense: 62nd Not shocking with this wildly inconsistent offense. Play calling isn't helping their cause either. Defense: 22nd WOuld love to see the first half versus 2nd half efficiency rankings. It seems that offenses are adjusting at half and ND is either running out of gas or opponents are finding their weak spots. Not sure which at this point. Special Teams: 93rd Totally inexcusable. Come on Polian! Overall team efficiency: 40th This helps confirm the general ND fan consensus that this is a mediocre squad that will be exposes shortly. http://www.espn.com/college-football/statistics/teamratings/_/tab/efficiency ND will need to clean up their play before they hit the meat of the schedule of this could go off the rails.
  7. I would probably give it one "really"... ND currently ranks 62nd in offensive efficiency based on ESPN's team efficiency rankings. http://www.espn.com/college-football/statistics/teamratings/_/sort/offEfficiency/tab/efficiency ND's current team efficiency rankings: Offense: 62nd Defense: 22nd Special Teams: 93rd Overall team efficiency: 40th ND will need to clean up their play before they hit the meat of the schedule of this could go off the rails. **I'm moving this post to another thread. I think this deserves it's own discussion.
  8. I'm just glad we don't play BC this year... they may be the 2nd best team in the ACC. I would not be confident in the Irish in that matchup.
  9. Which team hands the Irish their first loss of the season?
  10. Protect the ball and we win. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  11. 9-3. The the travel involved late in the schedule will result in another November letdown.
  12. Jim Harbaugh wipes back to front Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  13. Check out BK's presser from last night. BK says multiple times that Book will play if we need him to win and Wimbush understands that. We'll see Book against Michigan at some point.
  14. The question was "is anyone else worried about Wimbush?" In short, I definitely am. He hasn't proven himself to be consistent or confident. The Irish won't beat Michigan with a QB that isn't sure of himself. I'm worried. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  15. Agreed! The USC game is not the entire season. Say ND losses to USC but goes on to run the table after that. The season would be largely considered a success. Saying that USC is a "all or nothing" game suggests that the Irish will implode following a loss (which could happen). What if they beat USC and then lose to NCst and Miami? On the other hand, if ND does lose to USC and begins to unravel knowing that they are out of playoff contention... then the USC game could prove to be pivotal (but that isn't specific to the opponent... could be said of any remaining games). Just to clarify, I don't believe the team will unravel if they suffer another loss. There seems to be some quality leadership on this team and they appear focused. That may be the most noticeable difference from 2016 to 2017. Point is... this is just another big game on a schedule loaded with big games.
  16. Glad to see him have fun with his players... but it totally reminded me of this:
  17. That was complete garbage. No way that should have gone uncalled. It doesn't get more egregious than that.
  18. Love the stats. It puts the margin of victory into perspective. I think ND will finish the season similarly ranked based on how this team is trending. Great post.
  19. Yes, absolutely. If ND had even been competitive in that game the perception would be slightly better. If they won he'd already have a statue.
  20. 31-20 ND I think this game will go very similarly to the BC game. Tight first half, ND runs the ball all game and racks up the rushing yards, wears MSU's defense down in the 2nd half. I also expect a similar defensive performance from the Irish D. MSU's offensive efficiency stats are garbage and they haven't played a legit defense yet.
  21. That may be true, but there is a reason why coaches sit living rooms and attempt to earn the trust of the player and family.
  22. Setting your fandom aside, would you play for Brian Kelly at ND? Assume you have other legit D1 offers. I'm legitimately curious if you'd like to have BK as a coach. I have friends that played for him at GVSU and loved him. I also see how he mismanages his players and his ego seems to be out of control. I also consider that Saban is considered the best in CFB and he seems like a complete jerk that blatantly disregards players and pushes them out of his program... yet, he gets the pick of the litter.
