  1. I live in Wisconsin, and watch the badgers. I hope his arm strength is not better then Pyne, and he isn’t very mobile. Coan looked great against teams that had un-athletic defenses. Against the good teams he played very poor and his lack of arm strength was shown. I’m hoping for Pyne because if it’s Coan, we had better have a great Oline and run game. We can’t have him win games for us.
  2. This would make me want to get a new system. Haven’t since the last NCAA came out.
  3. FSU must be offering every decent high school player in Florida. What this tells me is ND, and other schools are looking at tape, looking at body type and offering kids that actually want. FSU is probably offering everyone in hopes of getting the highest rated kids, then pull the offers from the other 75 kids.
  4. I agree faith. You carry that toughness from year to year based on the culture in the locker room, attitude at practice, and the kids you recruit. If we keep these 3 things consistent we will continue that toughness. Now we need speed.
  5. Freeman so far has been very impressive on the recruiting trail. If he coaches with this same intensity, we may have a truly elite defense. Now the offensive side needs to recruit with the same intensity.
  6. Tennessee should get hit hard, but won’t. Probably same penalties as us. NCAA is a joke
  7. How about Urban Meyer when he leaves the Jaguars in 3 years... then we became the next Bama! LOL
  8. This would be admitting Kelly had a good game plan. We aren’t allowed to think that.
  9. OSU is not going to win. Devonta smith may be the best college WR ever. Holy ****. Greatest performance for a WR I have ever seen.
  10. This has been my biggest gripe with the university. Every year we are #1 or #2 for money generated from football. We should spend like that too, or at least close. Obviously all of us love ND, but what about the next generation if ND doesn’t have success? Eventually the money will dry up. Glad to have donors helping, as does most major college sports.
  11. This shows me , ND is at least thinking about trying to become elite. 1.6 million is a large salary for an assistant coach. Only football factories pay that kind of money for a coordinator.
  12. Not sure he will be surrounded by more talent here, then what Coan had last year. Jonathan Taylor, Quintez Cephus would have been our #1 no doubt, Jake Ferguson will be an NFL TE, Pryor would also start for ND.
  13. I take highlight reals like this with a grain of salt. I saw many floating out routes, late throws, etc. while at times he looked great. Against Ohio State and Oregon he looked very mediocre. To me the highlight real was how underrated Cephus was as a receiver. He whipped Okudah last year. Cephus looked very good this year with the Lions. If it wasn’t for a false rape allegation and a slow 40 , he’s probably a 2nd-3rd pick. Ferguson is very underrated.. and Coan often had time to throw... and had Jonathan Taylor....
  14. What I know is against good defenses, his balls floated and he forced the ball. While his touch may be better, he can’t run to save his soul. I’m hoping this is just to push Pyne and Clark. With Coan I say 8-9 wins if Oline plays great and receivers develop.
  15. If he starts, we have issues. I live in Wisconsin and also love the Badgers . His arm strength makes Book look like Brett Favre.
  16. What do we think the OL will look like next year? Only return starter being Patterson. There will always be a dark horse that starts. Curious on what you guys think?
  17. I’d take Hilinski. If anything he can push the rest of the guys. Good or bad I think Pyne wins it next year.
  18. I’ll pass on Coan. Good leader, but you think Book lacks arm strength?
  19. I understand, and that would be great. But, no way the SEC or any major conference will except this. If a player “voluntarily “ transfers you would have a hard time getting the original team to except a loss of a scholarship... and if that was somehow enforced, you would have a lot of “medical hardships” for the kids that couldn’t make it. My hope is to allow players to leave after 1-2 years. Then Bama can’t stockpile as much, and allows older teams to compete more. Look at college basketball. Yeah the usual teams are on top, but it’s not the 80s where you are so deep. Also in football it tak
  20. I had such high hopes for that 2008 class.. some turned out to be studs.. others duds . This was a time when we needs better player development, and more focus on the trenches. .
  21. Bingo! So we hire him back, we have a good year and he looks around for more money again? I’m all for us paying coordinators well. I think we need to up it even more. However, we found someone better last time, we can this time too.
  22. I saw Bama was paying Sark 2.5 million a year. We need to do that. Or at least close to get the nest coordinators.
  23. Kelly’s first year he recruited awesome. I agree though, that class made him recruit “his guys” instead of stars. Aaron Lynch, and Ishaq Williams are a big reason. That 2011 class was a well recruited class. It was weak at linebacker and OL. We solved one of those. Some other players just never developed. Player development is much better now... can we recruit like that again?
  24. I agree Jack, unfortunately there is way too much money in college football vs. Collegiate baseball. People want to see the best players in college football, people don’t give a damn about baseball. Basketball gets the one and done... maybe that could work. It would help ND , if we could keep kids for 3-4 years vs Bama only having kids 1-2 years.
  25. The only thing he was wrong about is it wasn’t just the sidelines that was the problem, at was also what was on the field. Alabama was bigger, faster, and stronger on the outside. Either our linebackers and safeties were to slow to cover them, or our corners were getting stiff armed to the ground and run over. Alabama made every tackle against our guys save a few against Kyren.... who would/could play for Bama.
