I haven't heard this talked about,  but one would have to assume the coaches circled back on Avery Johnson and Jackson Arnold. Rumours that both wanted to commit well before ND was ready to move on from Dante.

I wonder if those ships have indeed sailed or if there is potential fire an in season flip?

No idea on Johnson, but Arnold had a committable offer and the staff was pushing for one before the whole Moore thing and he chose OU over ND.

Love to see the bumps for Otting, Absher, Gray and Jagusah. Drayk Bowen has been free falling, is it lack of camps etc? Think he's gonna be great and at the end of the day rankings aren't the end all be all. Just curious.

Rankings are part about ability (if they weren’t, they’d have no credibility), and part about driving clicks, camp attendance, offer lists, markets, political, bias, etc.

it’s very common for early commits to drop and kids who don’t do the camp circuits to drop.

For instance, not having Vernon in the top 200 is absolutely crazy.

How did it end up going down ?   Do tell ?   I was never sold on Dante anyway ..  im sure he is a great young kid...but im fairly glad he isn't committing to the Irish!

From what I’ve gathered, he had in fact told the staff he was committed last February. They wanted him to go public with it in April. He kept pushing it off. The staff even kept moving other kids schedules around to accommodate Moore’s April announcement.

Sounds like dad never wanted him at ND. Dante did and said if he had it to do over again he’d pick ND.

Car wanted to commit even earlier and had no problem with Moore being committed. When Moore started waffling and the reclassification talk started, that was sort of the end.

there’s even one rumor Moore’s wanted money for visiting during the Blue and Gold game.

like they say, watch what they do, not what they say.

As long as we have a fair shot at the playoffs, we do not need a conference.

I think that’s the concern, unless the playoffs expands beyond 4 teams, that everyone else will be left out of the conversation except the top teams in these “super conferences “

Seems like ND will land Greathouse and Hanafin soon. Moore is likely OSU. No idea on Love - seems like ND is at the top, but Michigan and Alabama are right there. If Bama lands Richard Young, maybe that pushes Love to ND. Ausberry seems to have ND on top. M'Pemba - check back in October/November.

Dante Moore likely to Oregon. Should know about CJ Carr reclassifying - one way or the other - in the next month or so.

Going 3 for 6 on that list seems likely. That puts us at 21. Not sure who We go after for the other 3 to 4 slots.

Also have to remember, coaches will be fired and players will be looking. Im curious/anxious on how flipping season is this year, both to and away from ND

    For sure.

and some kids will come out of nowhere their senior years and warrant a look, especially with COVID restrictions the past two years.

Will be interesting to see if/when and at what position the staff starts expanding the board

I’m curious on this too. The “big board” at this point is really only a handful of guys, all Of which ND has a good shot at.

So maybe they aren’t concerned with expanding the board as it probably puts them close to the 25 they want. And they can focus on just keeping the class together and move on to ‘24 kids.

Crazy considering we’re only in July.

Have there been any reports on these three and whether they’re prepared to read a defense and lead the offense?  Buchner ran a lot last year and didn’t look overly prepared.  Pyne had a bad spring.

I feel like the offense is going to stagnate early….hopefully it’s not a full season issue.

I haven't seen much of anything, but I don't pay for any info, so maybe there is more there. I've seen a couple Pyne camp videos but nothing on TB12.

I’m really concerned about the ability of Tyler to stay healthy.

Agreed, especially with his style of play, at least what we’ve seen so far.

you can almost bet that Pyne or Angeli is going to have to Finish at least one game this season.

Do you guys think that if Dante Moore doesn’t come to ND that we will then reclassify Carr to the 2023 class?  I’m thinking ND is waiting to see what Moore does. If Moore chooses ND then I think they will keep Carr in the 2024 class. I may be completely off on this but wanted to get some you guys’ thoughts?

I think this has been touched on in a few threads. ND is pretty much out of it for Moore. $$ is on Oregon (see what I did there). Moore, or more accurately, Moore’s dad seemed to botched this recruitment and it cost us Vizz. But that’s recruiting.

I do believe Carr, and ND, are considering a reclassify but I’d be surprised if it happened. Also, not sure I want him to as so far, that experiment hasn’t worked out yet.

I think the more likely scenario is ND ends up trying to flip a lower rated guy for ‘23. Don’t know who that will be, Johnson maybe.
