  1. Hello, coming over from Rivals Blue Gold I have been posting there for 16 years. I look forward to talking ND football with everyone.

  2. Overall, I thought all of NDs recruits did well. Angeli didn’t help or hurt himself ranking wise. He’s solid, high football IQ, consistent. Sneed was as advertised. High 4 star and dynamic. Chan needs to adjust to the size and speed of better competition. He showed good promise. Wagner and Craig both looked good but clearly need to add weight. Very promising though. Schrauth was good. Clearly strong and rebounded when he got beat. Merriweather was as advertised. Really like him. Think he can help early. Ford was better than expected. Moved quicker and better than I thought. Looked good in practice and the game. Gobaira was as advertised but a little shorter than expected. Very high motor and quick twitch. The guy was ready to rip and tear all week. Tuihalamaka is a big, thick kid. Tough game for him to showcase anything because they threw a ton. Made a nice play when he had the chance though. Burnham got a lot of buzz in practices. The game was more passing so he was less involved but a good week. Ziegler looked great to me on tv. Moved really well and smoothly. He was around the football a lot including special teams. McFerson will be an awesome addition provided he’s consistent. I get the NFL talent talk. Great couple of weeks for ND recruits. I would say everyone was on par or above expectations. Also great publicity for ND during the All American Bowl.

  3. You all have shown me kindness from day 1.. Speedy allowed my first post because you had to have 20 posts to show a link/ video. I remember being so excited that Aaron Lynch had multiple sacks during the U.S. Army All American game that i posted the first full game video i could find. I'll never forget when that 81 jersey came, the #5 or books. Then I went to watch ND vs Syracuse and Schell and Sligo invited me to meet schell's family. Before i left the tailgate it was shell's advise to help in anyway I could. Got home asked @Donjuan if I could help and he believed in me, has walked beside me, helped me understand things and i'm super proud to know you DJ. @Mike you've been a great addition to our family. You've upheld DJ's tradition of leading with kindness. Made me realize while the technology may change, the kindness won't. To all of you, a thank you to every single poster. This place is made of extremely kind and caring people. I'm looking forward to posting for as long as I am able. Go Irish! Yours always Brian AKA faith

  4. Elston leaving, doesn't hurt recruiting, it hurts the culture. I think Elston was a marginable at best recruiter. Until Marcus came along, our DL was ok, with normally one 4 star a year. Now maybe it was more because of Lea, who didn't recruit at all, but the recruits were not Top 100 until Marucs started to help. Maybe Elston stepped up his game once he saw the effort Marcus was putting in? Maybe. This isn't about recruiting. We will be fine without Elston recruiting, and we may even be better. This is about personality; it's about cuture. Mike used to open up his house and family to recruits and dlineman. There was a story out about Mike was on the road, and couldn't take his daughter to a dance (I think), and Kurt Hinish took her. They were family. This is the loss here -- family. I guess the right word is bummed. I'm bummed that Mike is leaving. He is a good man. He's what we want our athletes to see as a future in coaching.

  5. I wanna know who the fu(k is panicking after a nailbiter loss to a top 10 team with a coach who was less than a month old. BK wouldve lost by a helluva lot more and he has demonstrated that time and time again. What I watched was an improvement in progress with a few growing pains. I didnt expect a W and anyone who was expecting a dominant W clearly didnt watch what we had during the regular season. We were lucky to be in a major bowl and OSU was def a better team. Next year we are going to crush shit.

  8. I know there are a few more days to go for the year, but I don't expect much to change in terms of reputation. Leaders are as follows. First up, Moderators #1 - @FaithInIrishForeverwith 923 Reputation points, ~ double the next closest poster Faith has been my right-hand man since I started my journey in bringing Domer Domain to the modern age this spring. He has been there every step of the way, has provided extremely valuable feedback, and has a better grasp of what being a Domer is all about. He cares for this community like family, which is exactly what I want to see this place be. Like a big family. And although things get heated like it does in a family, Faith is always there to try and play the role of getting everyone back on the same page. Thank you, Faith. You have been a huge asset for the site. And that doesn't even include the behind-the-scenes stuff like updating the YouTube highlights on the homepage of domerdomain.com #2 - Our Newest member of our Mod team @NYGoldenDomer, with 284 Reputation Points. He joined the moderating team fairly recently, but he has been a fantastic addition so far, and extremely active in the community. #3 - The rest of the moderating team, which includes @SDIrishFan ,@SpeedsterX, @Donjuan, @tdnd81, and the rest of the Moderating team:@ND FANATIC, @GoldLid, @EnviedOne, @Irish Chris, @Austin, @JonesTech. Some are more active posters than others. Some are more lurkers, but they're all a very important reason Domer Domain is what it is today. So I want to thank every single one of them. Next up, Domers / Members! This is going to be a 1a / 1b scenario as I'm overruling the point system on this one since both of these members are very important contributors to the forum. And they are (in no particular order) @OKelleyIrish& @Big23Head. #1 @OKelleyIrish joined Domer Domain in 2017, but activity really ramped up this year. He has created some GREAT discussions such as the ND assistant coach / staff tracker, What to Watch threads, post-game thoughts, and more. Thank you for the amazing contributions, and we look forward to your continued involvement in Domer Domain. It's no secret how important content like that is to keep a forum active. #1 @Big23Head, who has always gone above and beyond when it comes to the recruitment side of things. Recruiting is something that Domer Domain has always been thought of as a leader in, and he's a big reason why. Thank you for owning the Recruiting Prospects threads prospering. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Each and every poster is the reason Domer Domain continues to thrive. But I want to thank the following members & mods for going above and beyond. Please consider dropping a thank you to them below. @FaithInIrishForever, @NYGoldenDomer, @OKelleyIrish, @Big23Head THANK YOU! P.S. Keep a lookout in your Private Messages. Sometime this week, the above 4 members will be receiving a small token of appreciation - A Gift Card to Fanatics.com. Use this on whatever you would like. I wish I could offer more since your contributions are invaluable. But I wanted to get you all something as a thank you.

  10. I've been here awhile and I've seen a few instances where a single poster or a small group of posters damn near kills the entire board for everyone whether its by just bombing every thread with the same stuff over and over and over again or by being a little shitwhistle that just has to disagree with everyone and also rub everyone the wrong way. There have been a few times over the years where I'm like "man, this place SUCKS right now" and we've lost some really good posters along the way. Luckily we have people like Faith and Big who bring awesome info for almost as long as I can remember to keep the board at a somewhat useful level. No one is looking for an echo chambe @Kizer For President, but I do think everyone wants to have a thread not turn into "Steve Angelli Sucks" or "Every single Irish fan, at least in my own head, totally wants to go 0-12 but its ok because they like Freeman/Rees."

  12. Kelly did nothing???? Did you already forget Kelly's dance video with Walker? I credit that 100% for Walker signing with LSU.

  13. Ehh, Everyone learns from everyone else. Great leaders should always be learning and helping round out their deficiencies, in this case on O. If you have a head coach that says he isnt learning, that would concern me. Previously he spent very little time in Offensive meetings. It makes sense for him to now. Much ado about nothing

  15. Really big few days for the Irish! Joseph committing as a grad transfer and Foskey coming back are both HUGE. ND commits looked good in the AA game. Schrauth looked huge and it was nice to see Tobias get a few grabs. Gobaira showed his motor and I thought Ford looked solid.

  17. I, personally, find it DISGUSTING that someone in college athletics would ever look to monetize their skillset and pursue better opportunities. Shame on Jim for not dedicating his entire life to Michigan and coaching for the love of the game. No dedication, no commitment, ItS tHe WiLd WeSt OuT tHeRe!!!!!

  18. You're right. He's offered plenty of steamed shit for a full 4 quarters against teams that weren't even ranked in the top 50. Sit the fu(k down sir.

  19. It has a lot to do with hijacking threads with the same thought over and over. That doesn’t bring value to the discussion. He’s also been warned numerous times. We’ll never make everyone happy, just trying to keep the discussion here enjoyable and informative.

  20. That’s the way to be. It’s a privilege to watch them play and root for ND but it shouldn’t result in self torture over things we have no control over. Says a lot about folks who can’t be anything but negative, amongst other fans who likewise have no control or power over the situation. Enjoy the good moments, and don’t sweat the bad ones. Tomorrow is another day. PS - and if that makes me an “ignorant fan” or whatever, that’s fine. I don’t get paid to know anything about the game and have never claimed to know a whole lot. No skin off my back.

  21. This place has become worse than NDNation. Years ago one poster made this place unbearable and many of us left. it’s happening again. One poster. Mods, figure it out, or many of us will leave again.

  25. To be forward thinking and proactive in the college landscape. We used to be cutting edge once upon a time with our schemes, scheduling, TV contract, etc etc. Now we are constantly playing catch up with everyone. The administration has been one of those hindrances for years along with bad coaching hires. We can be a leader if the will is there. Quit treating the FB program as some sort of bastard child that brings down the reputation of the school academically. If it wasn't for the FB program the university NEVER would have achieved the heights of success and recognition it has. Embrace and excell in both.

  26. I am not going to buy into the inevitable excuses. The SEC is top heavy and the rest are overrated. There is clear SEC bias in the rankings which allows other SEC teams to build off of the over-ranked teams they just beat. They are 0-4 (Heck, I'll say 0-5 with Texas A&M dropping out). A "dominant" conference should not have that happen. But it wont matter, even if Alabama wins it all and the SEC goes 2-11 in Bowl games, they will still say the SEC is king because of Bama.

  29. This kills me…. Who cares if they have covid at this point. We don’t atop games for a flu outbreak, and that’s all omicron is. If you’re a fan worried about it, get vaccinated, wear a mask or three, or just stay home. Otherwise, play ball! vaccinated and unvaccinated spread this stuff equally according to many studies and omicron hasn’t resulted in significant hospitalization. What f*** are we doing???? Smh…

  32. I think the CEO coach model as evolved further, The days of the head coach having time to be heavily involved in game planning are over. The genius offensive guys and the genius defensive guys have a ceiling on their level of success. Its the genius recruiter who can hire a genius offensive guy and a genius defensive guy who succeed. Look at Urban Meyer, or even Ed Orgeron, recruit well, hire well win big

  33. Skipping it. No interest in watching either team. Will check the score Tuesday morning or here if there is a game chat. If I had to pull for one I guess it would be Georgia because I’m sick of Alabama dominance.

  34. To me this is a bigger deal and best case replacement to not signing Nwankpa. IF Joseph stays 2 years it’s actually better. He can immediately be a starter, knows what it takes both physically and mentally at a academically demanding college and won’t have the freshman issues to deal With. That’s a 6 ️ recruit in my eyes. Now if he’s only here a year, that changes that.

  35. Thanks @SDIrishFan. That's correct. It shouldn't be more than a couple per day, and uhnd was one of the better sites when it comes to categories without having a dozen posts a day. Shouldn't be more than every couple days in the offseason, and up to 3-4 in a busy news day during the season. May need some tweaks going forward, and if it's a flop, then I'll scrap it. But what better time to try and figure out ways to increase engagement than the offseason.

  36. Staff needs to embrace who Lenzy is too. Hand him the ball on sweeps, let him receive screens in the slot. They shouldn't throw him a ton of jump balls. Now i do agree better technique, to win off the line of scrimmage is important, but Bradens fast put him in spots to be fast.

  37. Freeman had some disadvantages going into this game. Given that he to pick up as HC after Bayou Brian left the team just four weeks ago, he had to compete against a coach who had minimal distractions compared to Freeman in terms of program direction, staff and players. It is interesting that there are many fans who are using one NY6 game to instantly decide that Freeman will fail as a HC. Using that logic, then Bayou Kelly failed his entire career since he never won a NY6 game and never even lost one by less than double digits. It is hard to believe that Kelly would have had a lead in the first half given his record of having teams unready for big games. Freeman is already recruiting at a much higher level than Kelly ever did especially on defense which was his focus for the past 11 months. Hopefully, he can bring in the talent on offense as well. He needs to win 17 games in his first two years to beat Bayou Brian's record. Let's give Freeman more than 4 weeks to decide if he will succeed.

  38. You know what’s hilarious? People pretending that we should have kept Kelly, as if we advocated getting rid of him. If I recall correctly, Kelly left us, not the other way around. and did so in a cloud of lies and shifty actions. THAT’S the guy who broke up with these trolls: their ex-boyfriend. All these frantic posts and threads about having lost the game yesterday… none of that will make Kelly love you, guys. Sorry, but it’s the cold truth.

  41. My list would be: 1. QB wins in the NFL- As you know ND has not had a starting QB win in the NFL in awhile, 34 starts maybe. That speaks to what others have said aiming beyond the QBs that ND gets typically in recruiting 2. Big game success- Linked to number 1. Qbs that win in the NFL typically, (not always, Josh Allen, Big Ben others are exceptions) helped their teams win big college games. Tom Brady beat Bama years ago and got drafted low. Bama Qbs are all over the NFL right now, not having loads of success but they are there, starting. Have a shot soon but thats still a level of team ND beat in 2012 regular season to be honest. Oklahoma was #8 at the time. 3. MORE Big Time Players.- Gotta have more then 1 Hamilton, More then 1 Mayer. Tyler has to be his version of Bryce Young or they need to recruit an elite player. Tim Brown played a long time ago 4. Patiently waiting for ND to take the hardest next step. - Getting to 5 is one thing. Getting to 1 is the hardest thing.
