All the analysis is spot on to me, and we went to the game.
Things that stood out to me
TE- Raridon looks great physically and is quick in and out of breaks. Talented - but we are not deep here.
RB - Jadarian Price is sooo good.Aneyas is yoked! Kedron look good. Gi'Bran a bunch of touches, looks good, but man he's small compared to this group. Nolan James could turn into a dude! RB room is loaded.
WR - Young receivers played - but a couple of these guys are going to break into the 2-deep. Burris looks ready to play, thin frame, but has some muscle. Cam Williams can move.
OL - I didn't know Knapp was going to play, so that was cool. The O line needs to shake out yet, but they have the personnel (positions TBD with Guerby in a sling). Seemed like they moved 7 or 8 guys in and around different positions. Deep group, tho.
DL - Onye is fully back, looks great. Will impact in '25. Our DL is gonna be OK, IMO. Transfer kid is strong. Couple of the younger guys are big enough to factor. Mukam is giant. Sevillano legs like fire hydrants. Rubio looked strong. Bryant Young is getting scouted by the NFL already.
LB - KVA is NOW! Faraimo can run - and he's fast. Took a couple bad lanes, but he'll be an exciting player as he develops. Between them and Bowen, Ausberry, Sneed - in good shape here. Not kidding, I think Preston Zinter could probably start at most Power 5 schools. Crazy position group depth - they are going to play a bunch of Sundays.
DB - Hobbs and Talich are talented and hungry. Going to be hard to keep them off the field after Schuler, L Moore and Gray. Ben Minich will be a special teams madman and a capable sub if needed.
QB - We were all back and forth on the QB's, and trying to stay objective. It took a few beers over a couple days to really consider it all. Media, fans...everyone is calling it accurately IMO. Minchey probably has/had the most to prove. Angeli knows the playbook - high floor. Carr looked in command, quick, accurate. The INT was terrible, but the play design maybe even worse. Not forgiving that, but I figure we're not opening up the playbook for Blue-Gold. That's double coverage every time, should not be thrown.
Ultimately, I think it's going to be Carr all day long. And we'll be lucky to keep the others. This team is more talented even than last year, and the story will be QB play. If we get good QB play, watch out!
The scoring system was absurd. The Defense had no chance to win in any way.
