Default NE WR Xavier Watts is Irish

Omaha Burke's Xavier Watts, the state's No. 1 recruit, commits to Notre Dame over Nebraska!
Watts is Irish!!!!!!
Watts is Irish!!!!!!
Great WR addition to this class of studs!!

According to Omaha World Herald:
"Omaha Burke receiver Xavier Watts, the No. 1 recruit in the state of Nebraska for the 2020 class, announced on Friday his commitment to Notre Dame.

Watts chose the Fighting Irish instead of staying home to play for the Huskers. Iowa State, Michigan, Tennessee and Wisconsin were also among Watts' top schools.

“It would’ve been nice to stay home," Watts said, "but in the end I needed to do what’s best for me.”

He would be the first Nebraskan to play for Notre Dame since Trevor Robinson, a 2007 graduate of Elkhorn who went on to start multiple years on the Irish offensive line and play in the NFL."

Great get for the Irish. I lived in the area for a couple of years and he will certainly get lots of pressure from the locals to flip to Nebraska. The fans there are crazy about Frost and think he will bring that back to former glory soon (believe it or not).

Silly Husker fans, it takes at least 10 years for a coach to start to learn how to restore a program...

Has Watts participated in any of the camps put on by the recruiting services? Just curious why he seems to be highly valued by ND and Nebraska coaches but not by the recruiting services.

He was at a rivals camp and did alright. Heís a 3 sport athlete and hasnít focused his time on football yet. He rated properly due to that but has a high ceiling that goes with it.
