Not sure if anyone is watching the Purdue - OSU game, but I would say more than 75% of the crowd is supporting the buckeyes and dressed in red...

Not really the ideal atmosphere to impress a certain recruit! Haha

OSU is kicking Purdue's behind. The offense looks pathetic. Drue, come join our team and win a championship! OSU now up 28-0 in first quarter.

That is a fact - I just got this picture from a friend at the game. Absolutely pathetic. I don't know how Tranquill could experience this environment and still want to go there.

I really hope this kid sticks with Perdue. We need to save our last 6-7 schollies for elite players. We have already met our quota of players that are not must haves.

He should call CBK and commit while standing on PU's sideline.

Oh jeez here we go. Standard stuff here jumping down someone's throat for having an opinion.

All I'm saying is that we have about 6-7 spots left I think we really save them for the Lazards, scarbourghs, elams, etc so we really don't handcuff ourselves a out of a shot to get these guys

The problem is that we are unlikely to get any of those 3 you just mentioned, let alone all of them. If we go big or go home, then we will be going home quite a bit in recruiting.

This kid is a very important recruit at a position of need. We lack speed at middle linebacker and we lose both starters to graduation. Absolutely no depth. Tranquill has been tearing it up and plays outside linebacker. No way the coaches give up on him and I fully expect him to be Irish in a few weeks.

kind of getting irritated by Drue's changing timeline, he said he would decide after his football season is over. I know the southern part of Indiana already started sectionals, not sure about his area though, so his team could play their last game any week now.

He wants to play with his brother and he is waiting to see if Purdue or Notre Dame offers him. I think he has made up his mind but he is trying to help his brother.

He's had some public comments about playing with his Ft Wayne teammates, as well as his brother. Ultimately, I think it comes down to that.

Otherwise, I'd love to finish with top 50 guys, but if the coaches have identified Drue as a guy they want at a position of need, he's a good enough prospect that you take him. Let the rest of the puzzle fall into place, but I doubt we'll be short on scholly's if top 50 studs want to sign on the dotted line.

Kids want to win. Purdue is experiencing a lot of misery. He just got back from Purdue and is echoing the words that were said to him about playing time and turning it around. But they got the crap kicked out of them by Ohio State. Drue is a very good athlete but he can't turn that ship wreck around. Part of the problem is the resurgence of Notre Dame. When they would beat us they recruited better. Well, they can't lick us! How will it feel to get your butt kicked next year by Notre Dame in the Shamrock series game??

Many kids think they're good enough to bring wins he selves and can turn around teams by themselves. Some guys want to win and feel the respect of turning it around themselves.

This could go either way. If he thinks Hazell could turn it around with his help, then his desire to earn wins could push him away from ND and towards Purdue. Sometimes, part of that jock mentality is supreme confidence in their own talents and belief that they alone can win games.

It's just not as simple as "if you want to win games, come to ND". If that were the case, the entire top 100 guys would walk on at Alabama to win.

State championship game is Thanksgiving weekend, so worst case scenario a few weeks

No, it's not a simple as if you want to win games come to Notre Dame. However, the contrast between Notre Dame and Purdue right now is is like the Grand Canyon. That program has no hope. We, on the other hand, are still ascending.

is it me or does anyone else think his senior film is very similar to that of jaylon smiths? also he seems to be the same type of athlete / LB, would love to have smith at OLB and tranquill at MLB, what a defense that would be.

Purdue's offense has not been in the red zone since SEPTEMBER 28th! True! Maybe that type of information will help Drue make his decision.

Is anyone else just kind of "meh" on this guy? I'd be happy to get him but I won't lose sleep if we don't.

I'm with you, to me he's a guy who will provide depth and maybe compete down the line. His competition looks really weak on film, it'd be nice if we could see him play against better competition. His offer list is very unappealing too.

What I see is a kid that can run and is very athletic. He will need to hit the weights hard, but he will, and he is a better athlete than Fox or Callabrese. This is a position of need. I hope and expect him to be Irish.
