Default Darnell Ewell No Longer on Football Roster

Per Eric Hansen.

Ewell will take a medical hardship. He will stay in school to finish his degree.

BK: "He's had some issues relative to the stress of the game and academics and managing all that's going on. I can't get into the specifics of it. He's staying in school. He's going to get his degree. He's excited about his future in terms of academics here at Notre Dame, and that's a good thing."

ND now at 85 scholarships, including Bertrand and Liufau.

Good luck to him. Now lets keep all our players and we got a fully loaded squad. Helps with competition and in practice

Sorry his playing days are over, but glad he will stay to get his degree, which is the most important thing for his future.

Nice that ND gets can still get a great degree.
Hate to mention these things right when a kid is leaving, but does that finally put us at the right numbers for the fall? Or are we still needing one more to hit 85?

ND is officially at 85 - all freshman - including Liufau and Bertrand - are on scholarship.

My guess is that ND will get down to 83/84 by August due to another medical hardship or maybe even a transfer, and award a walk-on or two a scholarship. Temitope Agoro is the most likely walk-on to be put on scholarship before the season if one becomes available.

Also a possibility is the WO Kicker, esp if he beats out JD
