Default Meyer as ND head coach?

Some are talking about it. I have always said that Meyer is just waiting for the right time.

If Meyer can live with ND's academic requirements then back up a Brinks truck to his front door and make him an offer he can't refuse.
I don't think it will happen because I believe this Administration is happy with the way the football program is going.

LMAO.
1. This was suggested by the SEC hack Finebaum . Lol.

2. Not a chance in he!! Meyer wants to go to ND with academic restrictions.

3. Not a chance in he!! the ND administration wants him.

By the way this guy is a damn genius in manipulating the media. Leaving two programs that are under fire. Says he is too ill to coach and done coaching. Yet here we are and the media is finding coaching jobs for him rather than stringing him up. Bravo!

Iíve mentioned this before, but we did sx on a player of his who is only two years removed from the program. I asked him about Meyer and his headaches. He said you should see him in practice. The guy has a serious issue. Iíll have to take him at his word that Meyer is actually having this issue.

Anyways, I ripped Meyer for years but Iíve also said that if he came here I would be ok with it. For me, Iím embedded in winning a NC. Not by any means necessary, but by allowing two-three guys in that may not be normally accepted. The same that Holtz had. I see nothing wrong with that. And if the NCAA is going to start allowing colleges to pay athletes...well ND better start thinking about lessening their restrictions or else they are going to be left behind in the cold.

I think Meyer would like to coach here one day, but I think he has a pretty sweet gig right now on Fox - plus he is actually really good as an analyst. I can see him getting the itch to coach again, and I could see ND being at the front of his list.

But the ND admin won't touch him. That's just a fact. It has nothing to do with being happy/not being happy with the program right now. They won't touch Meyer because of his baggage - the Zach Smith situation at OSU and all of the player arrests/issues at UF. No way.

If he goes to USC or UT, they will have a spike in player arrests. Lack of player discipline, it's just a thing he does. It wouldn't fly here and he would have no interest in NDs ethics or academic requirements.

To be honest, I wouldn't even want Meyer anymore. His turnover rate is way too high. Only if we were somehow guaranteed to be set for several years after he left.....

My point is that a trend of poor player behavior wouldn't be tolerated at ND, not that our players are all good citizens. For example, the recent academic violation was self-reported and you know that most institutions would have swept that incident under the rug.

If meyer was the coach it would prove what this program truly is capable of in this day and age. If he didnt do better then kelly is doing now we would all know that this is as good as it gets at nd. But no nd wouldnt touch him with a 50 foot pole with his baggage

Also, if Meyer did somehow end up here with no academic exceptions (a dealbreaker during his 1st round of failed negotiations), I wonder how successful he would actually be....

Itís a fair question. But I think heís at a different time in coaching whereís heís built up a lot of cache with recruits that he may not need those extra incentives. Iím Urban Meyer, want to be the JK Dobbins, Tebow, Hardin etc... he can sell himself more than he needs to sell the university at this point in his life.

if ND let BK go and hired meyer, does anyone really think that meyer would stay at ND longer than 5 years (at florida 6 years and osu 7 years).

Dan Devine only coached at ND for 5 years and won a NC. I'd take that in a heartbeat if Meyer could deliver one in 5 years.

No interest in Meyer and ND selling their soul to return to prominence.

Urban is a sleaze bag. I would rather his name not be associated with ND.

Did you like Lou Holtz? Because before Holtz was hired at ND, he wasn't exactly a saint himself. But people forgot his recruiting tactics and his coaching philosophies because he was winning.

If Urban wins as he did at UF and OSU, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Iíd take him in a heartbeat. However, this is complete BS. There is a far greater chance he would go to SC before he ever thought of coming to ND. It would be so easy for him to build a quick winner at SC and cement his coaching legacy as one of the best of all time.

I think Urban is an azzhole, but this is a business. I want him to be the next coach, as long as he doesnít ruin the Program with violations and bolt. However, NDís Admin will NEVER hire him after the Zack Smith debacle, itís simply not an option.

Why?

Why would ND hire Urban?

Why would Urban want to come to ND?

Urban gets ND. Could sell it to anyone. Take him before he goes to USC and kicks Kellys *** for the next few years.

Random thoughts:

first hes brillant

second hes in high demand

third hes like Leahy(ND was a much different ND when Leahy was the coach) ND still was fresh from being a training ground for the armed forces vs ND pursuing to be the Harvard of the Midwest

fourth: Does Meyer view his legacy as complete? 3 titles..ND would be the biggest challenge/risk of his career/legacy. Would he make that gamble? Win one at ND and your on the Mount Rushmore of coaches forever!! Don't your good but you are NOT Saban good.

fifth: Kelly timeline:Kelly's 58 Urban's 55: say BK for 3 more years. Would Urban want this at 58?

Your move Urban.. Your Move! My gut says he won't coach ND mostly because of the timeline
