Default Stanford: 2nd favorite team

Title says it all. It's hard not to like Stanford. McAfferty should have won the Heisman. Great team...the west coast ND.

They passed us under Harbaugh years ago. And they clearly have not looked back. I thought they would fade when he left but they havent. They are still a superior program to us and that hurts.

Shaw makes it very easy to not like Stanford.

Shaw seems OK. I don't know any particulars, though.

I thought they would too. But I still feel when Hogan(Harbaugh's last fingerprint) leaves, that's when we'll know if Shaw is for real. Blake Martinez, their leading tackler was a Harbaugh left over. He has more then doubled what the next guy has in tackles for Stanford. We'll see if Shaw can keep this gravy train going or the emergence of Mccafrey shows that Shaw is for real. I believe Stanford comes back down to Earth next season.

Yep, but everyone's been saying that for 4 years now and it hasn't happened. They are still recruiting really good, lost good asst coaches and restocked new ones, and graduated good players. He may be a douche, but I am starting to think he's actually not a bad coach at all. Will he win a natty, probably not, but they will be a tough out for us as long as he's there doing what he's doing and other teams will have the same concern.

Next year will have some drop off with the amount of upperclassmen leaving especially on the OL, Hogan, and Martinez. But it won't last long IMO.

I feel a certain rivalry developing. Not a nasty one, but a good and decent rivalry
