Default My 8 yr old son's highlight reel

We had a parent tape the games, so I was bored and threw this together. It's from 4 scrimmages and his first game of the year. Let me know what you think.

He's 8 yrs old in 3rd grade.

Congrats.. I'm so glad we have Cam McDaniel Right now. I would Point Cam out to Jacob when your watching the game together. I think Cam would be a great role model for him!

Nice, Zig! Congratulations! His vision looks to be pretty good as some of his blockers were initially swatting butterflies after the snap and he patiently waited for them to open things up on their time. Overall, should be a good player to have with nice instinct and great heart. What he lacks in his 40 time, he should more than make up with his football IQ. Needs a little work picking up the fat kid blitz but should be able to get better before next year's crazy recruiting cycle picks up. Kiffin's already saved him a twitter account...

Shouldn't this be in recruiting? Kid looks like a 4* already and with offers from Lincoln Junior High and Montessori of Trenton? Where do we sign?

he surprised me this yr. when he was 6 he was in a 5-6 yr old league that was basically fastest kid to the outside scored and he scored a lot, but i knew the defenses werent that good. Last yr he was MVP of our 7-8 yr old team as a 7 yr old, but he didnt really have a lot of homerun TDs bc the defenses were better at this level. Then first game this yr, he breaks loose for 4 TDs, and had about 14 tackles from his MLB spot. Prob the most dominant I've ever seen him play, so I decided to do a little highlight reel for him.

yea but what about the competition--those opponents looked smallish to me------you guys are always sold on these highlight tapes , everyone looks good if you just see the highlights---And what about those character issues and that prima donna father of his--I hear he's nothing but problems---we go after a player like this and its another vanderdoes situation developing.

i'll let the staff decide on this kid not you guys---

aloha's Zig---post more buddy

he's a 4 sport athlete (this yr he has to decide between basketball or wrestling), no personal trainer yet lol, just an 8 yr old that's having fun. he's only 4 ft 3, no big expectations here. Just teaching him to play hard.

How fun!!! Reminds me of my son's tapes several years ago. He since has joined the band and plans on attending Notre Dame in the footsteps of two of his sisters. What I found out about little league football it has all to do with the coaches and your teammates. My son made many long runs one year and the next he got pulverized because of no O line. My best friends son is now the starting quarter back for Edmond North a perennial powerhouse. He lit it up last week with over 200 yards passing and a 40 point win.

still undefeated 7-0. He's had an insane year. 29 TDs and over 1200 yds.

thanks guys, he's had a great year. We faced our toughest test this past week, a very athletic team that was undefeated in the season finale, we won 24-13 then two weeks later had to face them in a rematch. We ended up winning 12-6 in OT. It was a great game. We controlled the whole game, but couldn't punch it in. Our defense gave up 2 first downs the whole game and they were on the first two drives. We're (10-0) now and play in the championship this Saturday.

He has 37 TDs and about 1700 yards.

Here's the updated Highlights, most of the new ones are towards the end. (video may still be processing). The last clip is the OT winner.
