This is great news, now Iíd like to hear Okwara announce he is coming back.

Also is Crawford going to be eligible to play here next year? If he ncaa denies that then I give up.

Sweet Kareem is coming back! I would sh*t a solid gold brick if Love comes back...so wait and see I guess. It's going to get interesting with numbers before too long on who stays, transfers, and so on. Keeping any starter or two deep on defense that has eligibility would be awesome IMO. I know we lose Drue, Jerry, and Bonner for certain because of eligibility, big losses with the first two and a solid rotation guy. Anyone else I'm forgetting?

We have to have guys like this come back! The margin is too thin, the depth is too thin. Look at Clemson’s d line, 3 of those guys were border line first rounders last year, they all came back. Dabo keeps his guys. Now our awesome d-line freshman can come in and have someone to learn from and emulate. We need Love and Owarka back. I would be indifferent about Boykin, Claypool. If the other night taught me anything, it’s that we need speed at the we position. We don’t need tall slow receivers.

How about our leading tackler Coney. Losing Coney and Drue in the middle of the D is going to be tough to replace.

I would say Love is 75-25 to coming back. He got a late 2nd early 3rd round grade. Actually I think everyone who the staff wants back will be back next season.

Great to hear. At times this year, Kareem was our best defensive player. Very disruptive and got after the QB.

If I am remembering correctly, those were conflicting reports coming from sideline reporters, not the team.

Bk said it was a head injury and he did not pass concussion protocol initially.

He would have absolutely no motivation to sit out the first half of a CFP Semifinal. He is one of the fiercest competitors on the team - no way he pulls himself out of a 3-3 game.

His comments leading up to the game and post game all indicated he was leaning towards coming back. He talked about how he wanted to be a captain and win a national title. When talking about next year, he consistently used the term "we" to describe what the team needs to do to get better.

As mentioned above, he got a second round grade. I personally think he comes back and is named a captain 30 seconds after his announcement.

Really interesting news. I know we have a thread for this but what his your take on the numbers with him and Kareem coming back? Do you think they would ask Boykin and Finke back too with already thin numbers, yet, an offense that needs all the help it can get?

Finke is definitely coming back (which I am happy about - he really developed into a weapon this season). Boykin is wanted back by the staff, but it sounds like he is still deciding what to do. I personally think he'll be back. Right now, he is a Day 3 NFL Draft pick at best.

Other 5th years include: Asmar Bilal, Shaun Crawford, Trevor Ruhland, Brandon Wimbush, and Micah Dew-Treadway. Wimbush has already announced that he is leaving. Dew-Treadway will not be asked back. Bilal is a starter. It has already been confirmed Crawford will be back. Ruhland is a potential starter.

With potentially five 5th year guys coming back, that puts ND at 91 scholarships heading into the offseason.

If ND adds Isaiah Foskey (highly likely) and Asa Turner (coin flip), that puts them at 93.

So, potentially 8 scholarships need to open up. That is a lot. But at least one freshman will transfer out (I think at least one freshman has transferred every year for the last 20+ years). There will be medical hardships. Other guys might get the Brandon Tiassum treatment (kicked off the team for "traits" but allowed to stay at ND to get his degree). Others will simply transfer due to lack of playing time. Hard to speculate on potential transfers, but just hope that they aren't key guys like Nick Watkins and Jay Hayes last year - both could have really helped ND's depth this year.

Right now, 7 or 8 scholarships seems like a lot, but ND will find a way to get to 85 by August. I feel like BK's staff has been more aggressive getting to 85 scholarships the last few years, which has really helped the depth chart.

I'm glad he's coming back but it could be one of many reasons. Loves the ND/college experience, projected draft status or lack thereof, unfinished business after the PO loss and so on.

Really glad that it sounds like Love is coming back too. That young man will almost definitely play on Sundays(Mondays, Thursdays and sometimes Saturdays)
