Yeah, his path is much clearer. He is a pure ILB and no messing around with other spots. Really on the rise.
Really hope they donít pass on LB this year and take Cody. Any sense if he wants to go out on his own and not follow his brother?

Everything seems to point to him being ND if they want him. Still some talk of skipping LB this cycle, but I do think the staff will struggle with the idea of actually passing on him tbh. My guess would be he ends up in the class.

I think it would be a mistake to pass on him. I dont even know where hes ranked right now but he may be a top 150 prospect by the end if this cycle

Not to bring up this topic again, but it would drive me nuts if we took a long snapper but ended up passing on a player like Cody Simon. Would be a bad mistake. Hed go to psu or something and be a nfl draft pick

My read would be he plans to carve his own path but that could be at ND, if that makes sense. He will pick the right school for him and do his thing.

I guess my comment back is the two don't really go hand n hand. They won't skip on Simon because the LS has a scholly.

There are rumors the staff may just skip on LB altogether by choice because of numbers on the team already.

Rank the top 5 recruits left on the board. Im going by team positional need and talent of the player combined.

My Top 5:

1. Tosh Baker - After Liam, I dont see a legit playoff left tackle on our roster. This is a Huge priority

2. Clark Phillips - Similar to left tackle, after Troy Pride, I see a big drop off. Griffith could be good but is not even playing his best position. Another Huge priority right here

3. Braiden McGregor - Can never have enough pass rushers on the team. He is big time. Plus we'd be beating Michigan for a Michigan kid

4. Chris Tyee - I actually like our backs from what I saw in spring. But none have this speed. It'd be nice to add that to our roster

5. Lathan Ransom - Another athletic elite safety to team up with Kyle Hamilton. What a duo that could be.

Hard to argue with the five. Iíd probably flip flop Tyree and McGregor though.

I would personally just put Tyree first since he’s dynamic

Agree. Like Saquon Barkley, he is a "generational" player who can hit a home run from anywhere on the field. He is the No. 1 priroity

Saquan was 230 lbs. Tyree has the body to get up to 210 tops. Hope he is somewhere near the player Saquan is but highly doubtful. He is more of a scat back. Im hoping a faster Warrick Dunn type. That would be awesome

Got my number 1 guy ! So need a new 5th man.

McMillan or Henning I'd say right now

Good comparison. I like that one. I was thinking and hoping on another comparison. A slower Chris Johnson

At the end of the last recruiting cycle we were talking about BKs recruiting classes and the quality. Essentially, he has had some quality classes in overall average player rating but they were missing 2-3 very high to elite guys in each class to take them up a notch. This is the comparison I posted

2019 - .9094 (adjusted to remove P Bramblett)
2018 - .9005
2017 - .8980 (adjusted to remove K Doerer)
2016 - .8934 (adjusted to remove LS Shannon)
2015 - .9067 (adjusted to remove K Yoon)
2014 - .8974 (adjusted to remove P Newsome)
2013 - .9230 (Jaylon and Co.)

This current class has a average rating of .9293 (adjust to remove the LS). This also includes Alexander Ehrensbeger who I feel is slightly underrated. I have a hard time thinking he should be rated worse than Ade Ogundeji was in high school. That is not a knock on Ade but on the ranking. Ade played poor competition but tested pretty well. It seems the Ehrensberger tests well and trains with a former D1/NFL player that Ade did not (though missing the camp Barton Simmons was at likely hurt Ehrensberger in the rankings). Either way my point is that overall ranking could be slightly higher.

Now looking at it a little deeper. ND has landed a few very high/elite guys this cycle. Baker, Johnson and Botelho with a strong chance at Phillips III, McGregor, Tyree, and Ransom/Thompson/Morant. Kristian Sotry may fall into this category too. That is a real shot at 5 of the type of players ND has been landing 1 or 0 of in the past few years. They need to close but very positive start. As I keep saying this is the year for ND to truly show they have a program and not just a football team.
