Default 2020 NJ TE Kevin Bauman is irish

Just committed. Big time. Would think TE Michael Mayer will be close behind.

Awesome get for the Irish. Tapes remind me of Kyle Rudolph.
Yet another Jersey guy among the top at his position in the nation!
There are so many great HS players in Jersey. Let's keep it going!

Watching his highlights, I was about to say the same thing. His frame, route running, and ability to generate YAC are a spot on match with Rudolph.

Canít ask for a much better start to the 2020 class on the offensive side of the ball. Two of the best offensive players in the country for the 2020 cycle.

Every other class seems to be set up for an amazing group. Last year was good and if a few things went our way it would have been elite. Not sure how the current class pans out but next years group at this point looks like it could be one of the best.

247 Rankings: Four star, #142 overall, #2 TE

No 247 Composite because Rivals does not have a Rivals 100 for 2020 yet.

Offers: Boston College, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Rutgers, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Virginia, West Virginia

Obviously, still early and a ton of more offers should roll in.

The good thing is, every year the last few seems to be an improvement from the other. If on field performance continues to improve, the classes will continue that trend.

It does seem like we are getting guys that fit lately where in the past they were taking players that didn't suit the schemes.

Curious Big. Not sure how long youíve been doing what you have. But out of all the TEís that youíve seen at ND ďas recruits,Ē who was the best? Where does Bauman fit the bill?

Off the top of my head I would say Kyle Rudolph then Michael Mayer. Alize Mack, Ben Koyack, and Cole Kmet were strong recruits too. I would say Bauman falls in line ahead of guys like Takacs and behind Wright. Somewhere in there. Some of his film seems more athletic than Wright but he's probably more in the blocking TE like Wright. That opinion is of junior year Bauman too so it will be interesting to see his senior year, a lot can happen.

That list has to make you appreciate NDís TE recruiting. All 5 of those guys were Top 100 recruits and ranked 3rd or higher among TEs, based on 247 Composite:

Rudolph: #29 overall, #2 TE
Koyack: #42 overall, #3 TE
Mayer: #56 overall, #2 TE
Mack: #63 overall, #1 TE
Kmet: #82 overall, #3 TE
