I’m seriously worried that the season may be about to end. The number of games canceled yesterday is alarming.
If play does continue, will there actually be bowl games and a playoff? If play does not continue beyond two or three weeks from now, can a champion be crowned? It doesn’t seem right to allow a team that’s played maybe 5 games to be crowned. It is a HUGE accomplishment for ANY university to play 8 or more games this year. A true reflection of commitment at all levels of the university. Shouldn’t that also be factored in? |

No, f that. The majority of games were played this weekend, don’t let the pssies win this battle.

Would winning an NC this year be tainted since a lot of teams will not even have a chance to get to get to the playoffs.

The Pac 12 is the only conference that can puts teams into the playoff who will be affected if the close down the season. That still give the four other P5 conferences the opportunity to fill one of the four playoff spots. All the non P5 schools are out of luck anyhow due to the playoff structure anyhow.

Might’ve been tainted if OSU couldn’t participate. However, since the B10 is playing, it’s fair game.

Yes....yes it would. Our opinion doesn't really matter. This season has always been branded with an asterisk.

Who gives a f**k? Aren’t Bama, Clemson, and OSU still playing? The answer is yes, so it’s a legit season

Yea, I believe there will forever be an asterisk on this season but a Championship is a Championship regardless. Look at how many asterisks Bama has in their history but they still "claim" them all. LOL

Hahaha and they've almost all had games that have been canceled this year.. And we aren't playing our typical killer schedule. This year might count for you but it sure as hell won't count for most. I mean, OSU could be walking into the playoffs at 5-0 at this point. Its comical.

I don’t know about that Echo. The season is being played and everyone is on the field. OSU and Bama will be in playoffs. When one of those teams wins, no one is going to question that it happened in this structure. You win the games you are scheduled and able to play. The season wasn’t always 12 games or even 10. We still claim 1929 when we won 9 and never even played a single home game. Sure 2020 will always be remembered for being a strange and untraditional year, but the guys are playing and we aren’t just guessing at who is best. 2020 will have an asterisk, but if we win it’s nothing like the split Nattys we saw in the 90s. If anything, the winner of this year should be noted for overcoming more obstacles than any other championship team in recent memory.

Over time that asterisk gets to be smaller and smaller and most will remember only the the final results.....ND wins unanimously another NC

If ND wins as it is right now they will have to beat Clemson twice, Bama and OSU. If they do that I don’t see an asterisk. If SEC or B10 opts out it will asterisk for years. If Clemson doesn’t make the ACC title game for some reason and we don’t play them again it will also be tainted.

It does depend on who wins. If the winner is the one who has to play the longer run it should be a slam dunk but then Roger Maris sat with an asterisk for 55 years so...

Ohio St being 5-0 will not be that 'amazing'
Think about how many 5-0 teams there are in a typical season and then how many teams end up regular season with 0 or 1 losses. A 12 game season takes it toll and it is tough to stay undefeated over the entire season. (I think my stats are right on this) If a team has a 95% chance of winning each game it plays, it has a 77% chance of winning its first five games but only a 54% chance to win all 12 games. |

OSU won’t be 5-0 after IU beats them this weekend. One can hope right.

If that happens, it could be argued that ND might not even be the best team in the state...

If that was to happen I am sure ND would have their shot against IU to settle that.

Now wouldn’t that be something that none of us would have ever imagined. Two IN teams in the CFP. Would rather it was Purdue over IU but oh well odds are low either state schools make it in.

Assuming Alabama beats Florida in the SECCG, that puts Clemson and UF at 2 losses so they're out. You'd have Alabama, ND, Indiana, X. |

Yes if they win one could always make the argument that they would be in. I guess I meant in general the odds are low they run the table foe the rest of the regularly season. |
