Banks Is a huge guy who could go pro now. If he wanted to follow in the others footsteps before him and be a first round pick and move to left tackle. That would be the wise move. He could stick it out and just go pro and be a 2nd round guard too.

Wait one minute.....I wouldn’t assume we will lose our entire offensive line. First because of Covid we know this year does not count against their eligibility, free year. Second Patterson is only a sophomore will be back unless his injury prevents him. Then the other four all probably have NFL aspirations. If so it might be a draft benefit if some come back and play one more year of college football. Also the value of one year of a ND education plus room and board...$60k ....plus being ND starting QB.......priceless |

I have a buddy who is a big Pitt Steeler fan. He says he reads all the time where Claypool talks up Book. Said Claypool worked out with him over the summer. My friend said he would not be surprised to see Book in the NFL . I would say no way. As we watched the BC game he point out how Book has changed.

This surprises me but doesn't shock me. This guy could be useful on an NFL roster even if he doesn't project as the next Mahomes (or even as a starter). I could easily see a mix of Pennington and Old-Mark-Brunell where he is great in the QB room, capable in a pinch and affordable. I mean, beyond a shadow of a doubt, it would comfort me to see him in a Bears uniform (not because he possesses an abundance of skills but more so the dearth of them currently on the roster).

Does accepting an invitation to the game mean that he cannot come back, or just makes it seem like he intends to move on?
To me, this is just like taking part in Senior Day and then coming back for a 5th year. |

and even then, he'd be a late round pick at best.

Claypool brought his Steelers helmet and Book was asking him what it’s like in the NFL. |

With Book's invite and commitment to the Senior Bowl means he's definitely deemed worthy of NFL consideration. It's the premier event for college players with NFL aspirations and with 2 NFL coaching staffs, every GM, Player Personnel / Scouts in attendance, only works in his favor. If not a late round pick, sure to get an invite as a preferred FA with time on a Practice Squad to further develop.
