Itís possible that Rees IS ready, but weíre just not ready for Rees.
None of us has sat in the meetings or been present on the practice field or the sidelines to see what Rees is now.
We all still have the memories of Rees as a mediocre qb.

Iíd prefer a proven commodity from outside the program. But I wonít say Rees isnít ready. He might be.

Put me in the camp of fans that is very worried about this. I just read that BK is using the co-coordinator for the bowl game only. Then what? He says there will be small tweaks to the offense. Hmmm. We need to get a better OLine coach first.

I'm far from a kid having attended my first ND game in 1970, far loner than you I imagine. Just because you post your opinions multiple times per day, doesn't give them credibility. Jumping to conclusions and resorting to immature tactics proves my point. Get over yourself and move on. If Rees gets hired, crow all you want. If he doesn't, I'll find a recipe for you to enjoy while eating it. GO IRISH!

I was told by an ND administator that Long was very unpopular with the players to the point that players were going to Kelly and telling him if Long was staying they were leaving. Like all gossip, take it for what it's worth.

I saw this little blurb in a Hansen article in the SBT and that makes me think there is something to that rumor.

His abrasive style in practice became more noticeable and pronounced, though, when Clark Lea became NDís defensive coordinator.

Frank is, if thatís true, that changes my thinking significantly. You canít please every person, but if you drive off everyone (or lots of people) thatís not going to work with a program.

says it wasn't the product on the field

If itís one or two kids, Iím more inclined to believe theyíre soft. If itís more than that, then I think thereís a problem.

He might be, but Iíd prefer a known entity. My concern is the rush to promote him out of convenience. Heís only 26/27, he can wait a little longer if thereís better options available to ND.

Ya, doubt they would part ways to please a couple kids...

Wow that is crazy. Will be interesting to see who replaces him. Guessing Long won't put ND down as a reference going forward lol.

Pretty great considering Books talent level

Call me ignorant but why would he be upset about Lea getting the D.C.? Long is on offense. Did I miss something?

Agree. What are we missing? Did Lea get a significant pay raise?

Agree, Agree. I just assume we got the name wrong and it was Lance Taylor on the offense side. But why would a new offense assistant put any pressure on him? If it is Lea why.....my guess would be a second in command struggle.

At least try to. Maybe they try to snag a big fish and strikeout, it happens. However, this rush in some circles to make Rees OC out of proximity is concerning. This is a huge decision, not something you can make on a whim.
