Jackie young better not leave. She will get eaten up at the next level, unless she finds her shooting game.

If ND had just a hair over 40% FG percentage, they win this game. Awful shooting, shot selection, awful in the paint. They leaned too much on Arike in the first half too and she was cold.

Couple of dumb plays at the end really hurt. Botched alley oop, Arike dribbling off her leg and then I think we missed at least 4 free throws down the end.

Nice comeback, even though it was with Cox out.

That was a good team. Imagine if they had a 3 point shooter...

They went to the three pointer too often, too early and yeah. Cox going down is probably the main reason ND crawled back into it and made it a game.

agree. ND started the game shooting just 1 of 13 and 28% shooting in the first half, this lost ND the game. the second half was played pretty even the whole way. also the 3 missed free throws late in the game also hurt as well. ND had a chance to win but just couldn't hold on.

Good for her leaving, but she struggled mightily against taller girls. She better learn to shoot better and not go inside so much.

Just casually follow the women's game. Has UConn lost some its luster from a recruiting perspective since they have not been in the final game lately?

ND has two 5-star recruits coming in for next season, to go along with the three 5-star freshmen on this years team.

They just got one of the top recruits in the country Paige Bueckers and they have a to-be sophomore and junior who were the top recruits in the nation.

Did you not watch one game this year lmao? Only 1 of those 5 stars were in the top 30 out of high school. ESPNW has really bad rankings. Also, Nixon and Prohaska will still struggle mightly. Unless, Muffet gets 5th year transfers, this team will not make the tourney.

Your players have to be practically dead or middle schoolers not to make the tournament...

Sure, letís see how it goes next season lmao. Lose every single key player, and Iím not sure one player will have 100 points on the roster.

Nixon just entered the transfer portal. Muffet brought in two experienced, 5th year transfers in Destinee Walker and Marta Snierzek and has an incoming freshman guard in Anaya Peoples. The transfer game has really heated up. Stay tuned.

Both of those transfers are defensive players. Both freshman will be the leading scorers on this team lol.

Like I figured this team is awful. At least they beat Michigan.

You were right half about this, as Walker is the leading scorer. The big problem is that they have no bigs ( a huge talent drop off from Turner/Shepard to Vaugh/Cosgrove) and are way too reliant on Frosh. Gilbert went 2-16 last night against W Va. Can't have that kind of inconsistency with no inside game.

Can't believe Muffet didn't get better transfers (Sniezek is way below ND standards) and not one post player transfer. She's got a good recruiting class coming in, but this looks like a 3 year rebuild before she can get back to the Final 4.

Edit: Looks like she's adapting (although too late) to the reality that transfers and early WNBA exits will happen. So, from now on she's always going to recruit to have the maximum number of scholarship players each year and will never be caught with too few players again. She needs to recruit a good balance of bigs and shooters each year. The one's that play will stay. The others will transfer. It's the only way to survive and stay on top year in and year out.
