I was going to say much the same.....

As a younger man I lived and died with every snap. Now, with a college kid of my own, thr realization is far more prominent that these are KIDS we're talking about. I still enjoy watching them play, still enjoy celebrating their success, but the intensity is diminished.

please remember the coaches are our age, yes they get paid...But it's fun, don't lose your passion. Its tradition. This is the greatest time of the year. I need this man. I have had a rough 3 years, as many on this board have went through some tough times. Just want some excite ment. Hope you can get that fire back...

This year I've turned 70 and having lived in the South Bend area for all but 5 years of that and been up and down with wins, championships and losses, I've come to realize none of that is as important as the Notre Dame experience. Where could you have had a grander experience in college football? #inforthelongrun (I hope LOL)

This year I turn 54 and I'm right there with you, been through (remember) 2 NC's and many great years and many bad. It's the high's AND the lows that makes the experience. How boring if we ALWAYS win. ND Football is always interesting. LOL

Guys am from Canada and win or lose love the Irish.

Was on family vacation to Chicago last week and then made our way to Sandusky to Cedar Point but along the way, we stopped for a 2 hour visit at ND.

Even the wife and daughter who could care less about football loved walking around the campus.

Such a beautiful campus. And lit a candle at the Grotto at the end before we went buts at the bookstore. lol

I find it difficult getting excited, believing that we're still not there yet from a talent perspective. I have been pleasantly surprised at how well we've developed our defensive linemen and linebackers, but I don't think you can teach speed and I don't think we have enough skill position talent. That being said, I'd like to think we're getting there, but I expect this season to be like last year offensively, with a bit worse defense. I don't think this is a playoff team, but I hope I'm wrong.
