Default ND Loses to Duke

Still 10 minutes left in the second half, but ND is down 30 points.

Absolutely no energy and just a terrible effort defensively. Duke has 77 points with 9 minutes left. The only two guys who showed up were Durham and Mooney. The rest of the team just flat out didn't show up. No idea what's happened to TJ Gibbs the last two games because he was playing fairly well in ACC play, but he has been invisibly the last two games and can't make a shot. Pflueger is a liability on offense. Hubb is careless with the basketball and very inconsistent at shooting. Laszewski and Goodwin are awful offensively and Laszewski is especially awful on defense.

I wasn't expected ND to win at Duke, but I thought they'd be competitive knowing that their season is pretty much on the line. Instead, two guys showed up and the rest of the team quit in the second half after Duke made a few threes.

I wanted Brey to return next year, but something has happened the last three seasons and the program is really in a bad spot. Might be time for him to hang it up.

This will be an even worse team next year.

Tneun89 I feel the same way about Brey. I really cannot think of a thing that has improved with the program besides the facilities. Even Brey’s appearance has hit an all time low for him.
I don’t know if you watched the Syracuse vs FSU game played right before the ND game. I was never a big fan of Jim Boeheim but I got to give the old goat credit. That offense and defensive plan Syracuse ran was perfect. The way the SU passed the ball they were actually fun to watch. SU is not loaded with talent either they are just well coached. There is no reason Brey’s team shouldn’t look as good as SU. I use to think Brey was a good coach and motivator now I don’t know.

I hate to say it as I have always been a fan, but I do think it is time to go. He's just grown stale.
Mostly due to the mismanagement of the program over the last several years. Not sure if the coaching hires and recruiting choices have been the best. The sophmore class is great, but we'v really laid an egg, especially after 2 elite 8's.

Great end to the NC game.

It was hard to figure out who wanted to lose that game more.
Glad Fflug and Laz came up clutch in the last seconds..
