Default Three Statements

Three Statements:
2020 Tommy Rees is 2012 Chuck Martin
2020 Ian Book is 2012 Everett Golson
2020 Clarke Lea is like 2012 Bob Diaco

Do you agree or disagree and why?

Disagree on most, most notably Lea. Lea is doing it without the players that were on the 2012 team. That 2012 D was lead by the players. This D is lead by the coach.

I havenít decided how I feel on Rees
Golson had a better arm But I can kinda see it.
I think Lea is a better coach

My connection with Diaco and Lea was the Potential for a Broyles Award(Best Assistant coach) which I think Diaco won in 2012.

Tommy was in the QB room when Chuck Martin was there. The formations and run first without a lead receiver, Actually Kevin Austin and DaVaris Daniels even take it to another level.

Golson and Book its mostly a size simmilarity and how teams defend them.

I see Rees as being in the QB room with Martin.

I agree on Books arm

Lea has to be a Broyles award Candidate like Diaco was

Heck I'd even go Kyren to a better Theo Riddick. Wood was a different back but he broke one like Tyree.

Iím not a huge fan of comparing teams, so I am coming in somewhat biased. I do however find it hard to compare a team defined by high level stars to a team defined by quality depth.

You could compare Rees and Martin as they are run first guys who are trying to shelter good but not great qbs.

I donít see the DC comparisons. That defense gave up yards but was superb at the bend but donít break. They were also getting to the qb rushing 4 and always got the timely turnovers. This defense doesnít give up an inch. They also blitz more frequently.

I also find it hard to compare a freshman Qb to a fifth year. Golson did not protect the ball, yet that is Books strength. Both good athletes who struggled with vision inside the pocket.

Most appropriate part is.. Clarke's defense is averaging 9.8 points a game. Even with the Bama Game Diaco came in at 12.8 for a whole season.

There are alot of ways to get to the goal of not allowing many points and both guys did it.

I could have coached that 2012 defense... they were their own entity...

That defense was good but they didn't have much depth. Our defenses over the past two years if not longer have been better in my opinion, because they're in great position, they're talented, AND they're deep.
