Default Florida and coach part ways
Losing big to Georgia cost Florida coach his job!

Per Rotoworld; The released statement by the university offered no reason for Jim McElwain's dismissal, but earlier reports had Florida looking to fire the head coach "with cause" due to unsubstantiated claims by McElwain of death threats to players and family early in the week. Per the Gators, the two sides are continuing negotiations on McElwain's buyout clause, which is set at around $12.75 million. McElwain won the SEC East in each of his first two seasons with the Gators and finishes with a record of 22-14 over the past two-plus years.

The UF and UT jobs are two of the possible landing spots I've pegged for Iowa States HC. He's an up and comer with wins against two top 5's this year and a pretty nice trajectory so far in his career. He ain't staying in Ames after this season.

Rumors UT offered 10mm/yr to Gruden. I personally think it would be a massive blunder. The guy hasn't coached in nearly a decade and has never been a HC at the college level.

Agree! I never got the love for Gruden. Yea, he seems passionate and tough but what has he ever done other than win 1 (I believe only 1) Superbowl and then stunk it up. ND fans were clamoring for him for a while. Never got it :shrug:
