Out of all of this WR stuff ND passed on Redding III and he jumped at the opportunity to commit to Miami because ND moved on (Read this about Redding: Four-star WR Michael Redding III on Notre Dame ceasing his recruitment: 'It's a business'). Now...does ND circle back? Do they land Watts still? Do they take it to the fall and aim for McMillan as well. FWIW, Miami has had over 10 decommits in the 2020 class already. I also think Redding would love ND to circle back but I don't know how long that feeling will last. I'm very curious to see how Redding performs at the Opening vs all of the top competition (He had a good first day). Some are high on him and some aren't. He has a real chance to prove something.

FWIW, things may heat back up

Also, FWIW, EJ Holland has 2 coffees out right now indicating there are two commits to ND. One likely Caleb Offord

As expected, Mitchell Melton committed to O$U today. Seems like that pretty much clears up our DL board unless something changes down the road

Considering that Scott Frost has put a fence around the Nebraska border, much like Urban did at Ohio St., this would be an excellent recruit for ND to add to this sterling class.

Yeah. We will see. He almost visited already. Fully understanding who has more interest is probably the answer, ND or Webb. ND is in a good position to sit back and let the season play out for a bit to get the next couple of recruits. No rush now.

ND is in a great position heading into fall. They missed or are likely to miss on a few guys they really wanted like Phillips, Ransom, and McMillan but they have landed a lot of their top tier guys. Bartleson and Watts were guys that were targeted early and desired by the staff regardless of rankings and they got them. Lewis and Offord were second tier guys but the staff did their due diligence on both so only time will tell.

Right now, there are not any expected visitors for late summer and recruiting should head into the fall. Names to watch moving into the fall are Dontae Manning, Jerrin Thompson, Phillip Webb, Ramon Henderson, Malcolm Greene, and Christian Gonzalez. Surely, some of these guys will fall off and some new names will appear throughout the fall. ND will likely take 2-3 more recruits in this class and depending on the season that may creep up a couple more. Targets will be a pure safety then 1-2 best available, which would likely be WR/DB/DE.

Rankings adjustments will likely occur over the next few weeks now that the Opening Finals and most camps are complete. I will update the front page of this thread when that happens. Right now there are 5 EEs in this class (Pyne, Watts, Mills, Ehrensberger, and Mayer) with three more strongly possible (Brunelle, Offord and Botelho). Again, ND targeting a lot of EEs, which has proven to be excellent the last few years. Removing Peitsch the LS from the rankings, ND currently has an average player rating of 91.51, which is excellent. If they can land a player or two to mitigate the losses of Phillips and Ransom this class will finish extremely well.

So you are saying I can stop hitting the F5 button for recruiting updates?

Big - did you get confirmation that Ransom is out? There was a short video from Loy just a few days ago saying Ransom is announcing July 16th and to look for either ND or OSU. I know it was tough sledding to get him from the beginning, but as of the Loy video Monday, he didn't indicate we were out of it completely.

ND is in it more than people think, and when that video was released it was pretty much understood his mind had not been completely made up yet. With that said, most are pegging him to OSU and it would be somewhat of a surprise if ND was his choice on the 16th.

No surprise, but Ransom chooses OSU.

ND will have to expand the board at safety and take it into the fall to see which new prospects emerge.

Thatís recruiting for you. Especially if you arenít at Bama, Clemson or Ohio State. Canít land everyone you want. This class is very good and should become even better with a few more adds. Staff still pursuing some really impressive secondary guys - Manning, Watts, Greene, etc. Another solid season on the field will go along ways to consistent success recruiting as well. Remember 2021, is off to an even better start than 2020 was.

Yeah another big season can really help close this class out with top guys and open the floodgates for 21. I heard we still communicate with justin Robinson as well. Out of those 4 guys, who would you say we have the best chance of getting?
