All I know is it seems that as long as Kelly beats the cupcakes and mostly stays close to the good teams- winning by 3-7 points like at Northwestern last year- the administration and fan base can tolerate the road blowouts and the blowout when we play the elites. Personally, I'm tired of Kelly, mostly due to the offense being so boring. There's a lot of fear that ND would do worse without Kelly, but my feeling is that due to the Crossroads investment, and the fact that Monk hired three very poor coaches- two who had never been head coaches before- who went on to even worse performances in their next stop, that ND could hire a coach as least as good as Kelly if not better. However, seeing that Jenkins was recently renewed for 5 more years, I think Swarbrick/Kelly could be here for 4-5 more seasons.
