Default Updated Top 247 (11/18/2020)

247 updated their player rankings today. Irish commits appearing in the Top 247 below. Big jumps for Kollie (now in the Top 100) and Alt (now a 4-star and in the Top 200). Really surprised Styles didn't move up - he dominated this season playing in Ohio's best division. There are currently 9 commits in the Top 247.

Blake Fisher (OT): 4-star, #85 overall (no change)
Tyler Buchner (QB): 4-star, #88 overall (up three spots)
Prince Kollie (LB): 4-star, #91 overall (up 142 spots)
Rocco Spindler (OG): 4-star, #92 overall (down 13 spots)
Deion Colzie (WR): 4-star, #114 overall (down 4 spots)
Lorenzo Styles, Jr. (WR): 4-star, #129 overall (down 4 spots)
Gabriel Rubio (DT): 4-star, #148 overall (down 1 spot)
Joe Alt (OT): 4-star, #178 overall (up 158 spots)
Philip Riley (CB): 4-star, #233 overall (down 14 spots)

ND sits at #9 in the team rankings after the latest rankings update. However, Abiara is still listed as a commit, and it's believed he will not be a part of the class (ND staff's decision), so this ranking isn't totally accurate.

ND is in a good position to land Kahanu Kia (3-star LB) soon. ND is also fighting to land some elite players: Donovan Edwards (4-star RB, #36 overall), Ceyair Wright (4-star CB, #75 overall), Kelvin Gilliam (4-star DE Oklahoma commit, #102 overall), Bryon Cardwell (4-star RB, #170 overall), Titus Mokiao-Atimalala (4-star ATH, #297 overall), and Caleb Johnson (3-star OT Auburn commit, #367 overall).

Right now, I think ND lands Kia and Johnson. I think ND has a shot with Edwards, Wright, Gilliam, and Cardwell, but I don't think ND is the favorite for any of them. I think ND has the best shot at Gilliam, then Wright, then Edwards, then Cardwell - just speculation on my part. I think ND is close to being eliminated for Titus (he wants to play WR and ND likes him at Safety).

Joe Alt now listed as 6'8", 275# +. ND may have an absolute steal with him.

Was he rated a three star TE or OL before?

Agreed. Styles and Blake are big misses by 247. Blake is Top 50 all the way, and Styles is at least Top 100. He is the best player on one of the best high school teams in the country. He's enrolling early, so I think he could have a TJ Jones type freshman year.

On the flip side, I don't know what to think about Colzie. I think he is a great prospect, but he doesn't scream Top 125 to me. It seemed like major programs (Georgia) backed off, which is what led him back to ND. Also happy that Buchner is still in the Top 100 and moved up (not sure how that's possible when he hasn't played a down this season). That Elite 11 performance was really, really bad, but 247's analysts have said they are basically giving him a mulligan because his junior year tape is so good.

Yes yes yes. If Iím not mistaken Blake is at Pinnacle high school. Has a great tape with great size. I think he will be a steal along with Styles.
Completely agree on Colzie. At least I was cold on him awhile back from watching his tape. But people said he was dealing with knee and shin splints. So I gave him a pass. To me he just looked like a much bigger guy playing against very weak completion and it made him look better. Now if any of what I just said is true, I donít know in terms of competition. But he just looked slow, big, not very athletic and relied on his bigger stature to win battles at highschool. I hope Iím completely wrong for Ndís sake.

Buchner's junior tape is impressive but I still worry about his throwing motion at the college level.
