Take this for what it's worth but the free boards at BGI are claiming that Arkansas OL Bartley Webb has verbally committed to ND and will make it official Friday. They are also claiming that he is pushing his teammate QB Mitch Mustain to also commit. Take this for what it's worth.

I also heard the same thing. Hmm.........wasn't he in my recruiting prediction post? ;) Not too sure about the Mitch Mustain thing, but I'll take Webb for sure. I believe he was one of Aldridge's top choices for the line.

Dang, I was just about to post that link. Considering the source, I'm starting to put a lot of weight on this rumor. I don't even want to speculate about where Mustain will end up, but let's just hope Webb is a good recruiter! ;)

That's great. It's not yet set in stone, but I'll take it. He would be a great pick up. I had my doubts about picking him up. This is a great foundation for an unbelievable offense. With a set backfield, 2 great-hands wideouts, and a top-100 player along the line (all under the offensive gurus on our staff). Our future is bright.

I've seen on other sites that Webb is close to being Irish. But I was shocked to see that Mustain has ND in his top 3. I thought that once we got Frazer that Mustain was out but it sounds like we have a legitimate to land 2 of the top QB's.

Mustain is the top rated QB by Rivals but, more importantly, Zak Frazer is the top rated QB by Charlie Weis. So, I would LOVE to have Mustain also but, in my mind, Frazer is still the guy.

It would great to get some competition between Frazer and Mustain if Mustain commits. So now Webb is essential to us in two ways:

1. We need OL reaallllyyy bad.
2. He gives us a better shot at Mustain.

keep in mind that they also have a stud WR on that team. Maybe they help us land a 3rd from their team. Than again, maybe we should first worry about getting Webb and than Mustain.

Let's just focus on square one. It's very possible to see what we can build from Webb, but we need him as the cornerstone first. Once we see confirmation on him...........wow...........sky's the limit! I suppose it goes without saying, but it's also important to note that with each commitment at a position (namely O-Line), that's one less scholarship available to the guys we have offered. Maybe they will feel a little more pressure to commit sooner.

This could be shaping up to be a big week for our OL recruiting, with the probable verbal from webb and another four star player, Daron Rose, visiting this week with his father (it is also known that the Rose's have grown up rooting for ND)

It looks like we will have to wait a few weeks for Bartley's announcement. He has set up another unofficial visit to ND in 2 weeks with his family. This will be Bartley's 4th unofficial visit to ND this year. I think it is safe to assume that the kid wants to commit to Charlie in person. Very cool. Can't wait.

We are in great shape with Daron Rose and Bartley Webb. It is a known fact that BW wants to commit in person, hence is 4TH unofficial visit to ND in two weeks. That and Daron Rose is psyched for his ND visit. We have a real advantage by being his childhood favorite (that and his dad putting in a good word for ND doesn't hurt either).
