How can no one even give us a chance? Here's to proving them all wrong! GO IRISH!

I hate to say it but what has ND done the last 10 years to warrant any kind of leverage when it comes to bowl games. I hope it changes but at this point ND is an Independent that has averaged about 7 wins a year for the last few years. Yes, ND has tradition and a huge following but the reality of is "they are what they are" at this point. Until it changes ND will be getting the short end of the stick.

I think we make a bowl. CFN had us losing to MSU at home leaving us at 5-6 (not bowl eligible) so I guess that's how they figured it. I think we make a bowl, but what bowl does not matter to me. I would gladly settle for a lower tier bowl to get that decade long monkey off our back, but I'm not saying a Rose Bowl appearance wouldn't be nice.

I mostly posted that to generate discussion. I understand your point Tobey, but we can all agree that it's still a tough pill to swallow. I guess I'm more shocked by the lack of consideration in the lower tier games. As we've seen recently, an Irish team hovering right around .500 will still get a bowl invitation based on fan interest alone. Just food for thought.

it's tough for all of us. As optimistic as I am about this year we still aren't going to garner much attention or respect especially after firing Willingham. The reality is they can say whatever they want about ND right now but when push comes to shove and the dollars need to be made if ND has even 7 wins they will be tripping over themselves to get ND in a bowl game. Heck, they would have taken ND in the Gator last year if they could have beat Pitt so if ND wins it will all take care of itself. Winning is the "great cure-all" and our lady needs some curing.
