No, he isn't a football recruit, but this kid came off the bench tonight to
score 12 points and looked very good doing it. He's a slasher and gets
to the rim. He was 6 of 6 at the foul line. Very fluid and quick. Looks
like possible depth for this year and a starter when Jackson leaves.

the other freshmen that played are 6' 9" in Jack Cooley and Broghammer.
They look like projects but can put it back on a miss. They are very
tentative in the low post. They had compared Cooley to Gody, but I
sure don't see it. These kids can be good but need a lot of time and work.

The Hammer looked good. He threw down a nice one-handed power dunk and then had another from the block--something we haven't seen in awhile (as long as I've been alive).

Brooks looks like he has a lot of potential. I only wish he would've gotten meaningful minutes when the game was still within 20. His defense is all flat-footed leading to a lot of fouls but he will learn in time.

But this game is not on the same level for which we need to play to beat a Syracuse/Georgetown/all Big East teams... We need better defense against the teams with length, and rebounding. :grin:

At least we don't have to play against Thabeat...... Pitt does not rebound as well
as they did last year either.

Connecticut just blasted Stanford, so we are now number 2 in the country. I just
don't see how we are going to beat them. Talking GIRLS here....
