Butch Lewis Down To Two

Down To Two
by Ryan Jordan
January 2, 2006

Butch Lewis knew he wanted to make a decision at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, and many expected the Aurora, Colo. lineman to announce between six schools. However, Lewis says he is down to a handful of teams.

"Right now, it is Notre Dame and USC," Lewis said, adding that he is still looking at Georgia as another candidate. "They are not completely out, it kind of hard to turn them down.

"Notre Dame and USC stood out because of my visits. I saw the good and bad in both of them, and they turned out to be the best two choices.

"I really like the tradition, the coaches, and things like that at Notre Dame. The education is top-notch so it speaks for itself. At USC I really like the team chemistry and I really bonded with the D-Line, things really went well out there (on the official visit)."

I'm hearing rumblings that he is ND, nothing solid just rumors flying, wondering if anyone else is hearing anything?

I was looking from some post from the AA game and they seem to think hat Butch may be leaning to ND. I would gladly take him Carufel and McCoy/Young.

:) Wouldn't be too bad a guy to consider if some of these guys still want to leave Charlie dangling in the wind. He's not too patient anymore with all that attitude.

looks like he picked USC, stupid fool.. but is that really a bad thing? he was projected to be an offensive lineman in college right? and ND allready has 5 offensive lineman in this class and still a chance to get Sam Young

I say it is a great thing that he did not choose ND. We only have 2 spots remaining: Sam Young, Gerald McCoy. B. Lewis would not have allowed that to happen.
